THE IMPACT OF HER WILDERNESS

In the summer of 2021, I moved across the country for my dream job as a large animal embryologist. I found myself immersed in a new world, far from the familiarity of my hometown. Making friends outside of work proved difficult, especially those with similar interests and hobbies. That fall, I discovered Her Wilderness while scrolling on Tik Tok. Here was a group dedicated to empowering women through outdoor adventures, and I was immediately drawn to their mission. Little did I know, joining Her Wilderness would lead to some of the most meaningful friendships and experiences of my life.

My first trip with Her Wilderness was a Conservation Snow Goose Hunt in Stuttgart, Arkansas. I will admit, I was nervous—I had never been snow goose hunting before, and the idea of tagging along with a group of strangers was intimidating. But from the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms. These women weren't just fellow adventurers; they were instant friends, ready to share their passion for the outdoors and support each other every step of the way. Despite less-than-ideal weather conditions dampening our hunting success, the energy and laughter of our group never waned. We shared stories, exchanged tips, and forged bonds that would last a lifetime. Since that unforgettable weekend, I have embarked on countless adventures with Her Wilderness, traveling to new states, attending social meetups, and cherishing every moment spent with old and new friends.

In Her Wilderness, I found more than just a group of like-minded individuals; I found a tribe—a community of strong, supportive women who lifted each other up and cheered each other on. I have been able to hunt and fish species, I thought I would have never had the opportunity to. I have met incredible women who have encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone and try new hobbies. This year I have delved into archery hunting, trapping, and shed hunting—activities I had once deemed too intimidating to attempt. Thanks to the unwavering support of my Her Wilderness friends, I not only conquered my fears but discovered passions I never knew existed. These are the kind of friendships that last a lifetime, built on a foundation of mutual respect, trust, and a shared love for the great outdoors.

Thank you, Her Wilderness,—for bringing friendship, adventure, and endless possibilities into my life. They say that it takes a village, and I'm grateful every day that I found mine in the heart of this company.
