Who can attend a Her Wilderness trip or event?

Any and all women can attend a Her Wilderness trip! It doesn’t matter what walk a life you come from or your expertise, we welcome all experience levels. During our trips and events, we encourage bonding time and connections. By design, we do not host a formal educational class but are happy to implement as much education as needed. Make sure to come with questions, we are all learning together in a judgement free zone.

Can I attend a trip by myself?

Yes! Many of our members attend Her Wilderness event by themselves, and leave feeling like they have made new life long friends. This is a huge part of why we do what we do. We highly encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, come meet some new women who love the same things you do.

How do you sign up for a trip?

You can find all upcoming trips HERE and register for the one that intrigues you most HERE. When you register, within the next day or so, you will get a confirmation email from one of our trip coordinators who will be your point of contact on that specific trip. Please reach out to them with all questions.

Where are these trips located?

We have hosted events all over the nation, and have our sights set on some international travel this year. However, if you’re not seeing an adventure in your area that you think Her Wilderness should explore, please reach out to us at questions@herwilderness.co

How much does it cost to attend a trip?

Trips with Her Wilderness can range anywhere from completely free, to $1,000 and beyond. Prices will vary depending on the length, activity, and intensity of the given trip. With more expensive trips, we will offer a payment plan in increments. We work closely with guides and trip locations to ensure we are getting the best deal possible for our members.

Does it cost anything to be a Her Wilderness member?

At this time, we do not require a fee to become a member of Her Wilderness. To become a member, simply request to join our Members Only Facebook Page where we post the latest trips, news, and more. We also highly encourage you to subscribe to our email list to get exclusive email updates (scroll to bottom of the webpage to sign up).

How do I know what to bring on a trip?

For each trip, we will create a private group with every member attending to use as the main form of communication. One week before the respective trip we will post in the individual trip’s Facebook group a “what to pack” list that will include information that we think will be helpful. Remember, this may not include everything you need for your specific style of hunting and fishing. It’s always a good idea to do your own research. We encourage you to reach out via email if you have any additional questions on what to bring. questions@herwilderness.co

Can I get a refund if I can’t attend a trip or event?

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: By registering for a trip, you understand that there are NO refunds on any deposit under any circumstances. All deposits are non-refundable. No exceptions. We are only able to offer a refund on additional payments made if we fill your spot with another attendee up to 14 days prior to the trip dates. If you decide to cancel within the 14 day period there will be NO REFUNDS on any payments.

Our merchant processor charges us 4% on all transactions. There will be a 4% fee taken out of all refunded payments. If there is an opportunity for a refund you will not receive your refund until AFTER the trip dates have concluded.

Example 1: I am unable to attend a trip. I have paid my deposit and all payments due. Her Wilderness advertises your open spot and fills that spot with another attendee. Your deposit will not be refunded, but your additional payments will be after we deduct the 4% merchant fee of the refund total.

Example 2: I am unable to attend a trip. I have paid my deposit and all payments due. Her Wilderness advertises your open spot but is unable to fill it. Your deposit will not be refunded and no additional payments will be refunded.

Example 3: Her Wilderness cancels a trip for unforeseen circumstances. You can choose to receive a refund minus a 4% fee or the full value of all payments can be transferred to another trip that is listed on the Her Wilderness website.

Example 4: You cancel within the 14 day period. You will not receive a refund on your deposit or any additional payments made.

What if I make a late payment?

You have 5 days after a payment is due to remit payment. After that we will assume you are not attending and we will move onto our waitlist to fill your spot on that trip or event.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF A TRIP IS SOLD OUT?

JOIN OUR WAIT LIST!! If a trip you’re interested in is sold out, but you’d like to be placed on the wait list, please email questions@herwilderness.co. In most cases, we do have last minute spots open on our trips, and being on the wait list is the best way to snag them.

can I bring my dog?

At this time we partner with guide services and utilize the dogs that they provide. Please reach out to us if you have a specific request and we will try to accommodate on a case by case basis.

no drama policy!

Our community is made up of some of the most fun, energetic and “go with the flow” kind of people. We pride ourselves in how fun our trips can be even in the most unfortunate of circumstances. If you are often considered “high maintenance” or tend to get stressed out then we kindly want to let you know that our trips are not a good fit for you. You may have to share a bed with a stranger, the weather may not allow us to participate in an activity, there may not be any showers available, there may only be 1 bathroom for 10 women, you may not harvest the animal you wanted to get, there could be someone on the trip that you just don’t vibe with. All of these scenarios are real and they happen. We will do our best to filter and prevent what we can before it becomes an issue. All of our trips and events are a drama and stress free zone! If you are the source of any drama you will be asked to leave with no refund given. We always want to ensure that our customers are comfortable and taken care of. We will always ask that you have a cool, calm and collected attitude. If you are unable to maintain a good attitude in a variety of circumstances we kindly ask that you refrain from registering for a trip. We appreciate each and everyone of our customers and want to ensure the best experience for all of our attendees!

Can I bring my kids?

If you have a child under the age of 15, please explore events hosted by Little Wilderness. In most cases, children above the age of 15 area welcome to attend Her Wilderness trips. However, please confirm this with the trip’s coordinator prior to registering.

Do you cover travel expenses?

No, the cost of the trip includes the cost of your guided hunting or fishing experience, as well as a tip for the guide if relevant to that trip. In most cases it will cover also your lodging, but be sure to read the event details as it is different for every trip. The cost does NOT include food, airfare, gas or any other travel necessary to get to the primary meeting location (unless noted otherwise).

Do I need a license to participate?

Yes. Each state is different and has various requirements from year to year. Please be sure you are looking up the current rules and regulations before you register. We will include as much information as we can in the trip description but ultimately it is your responsibility as a hunter to be licensed and informed. For all firearm related trips, we also require that you have your firearm safety course certificate. Please reach out to questions@herwilderness.co if you have specific questions on the rules and regulations pertaining to one of our trips.

Can I get my own lodging?

No. If the trip we offer includes lodging within the trip description you are expected to participate fully from the lodging, to the experience. 90% of our trips include lodging. If a trip we offer does not include lodging you can purchase your own lodging at your expense.

DO HER WILDERNESS TRIPS INCLUDE A TIP?

No. As of January 1st, 2022 we no longer include a tip to our guides on our trips. We don’t always know how each person is feeling towards their experience and we want everyone to be in control of what they tip. This also minimizing Her Wilderness having to collect additional fees.

Is there anything we must sign to participate?

Yes, there is an official Her Wilderness trip waiver that must be signed to participate in any trip. These are available when you arrive to your trip. They will soon be available online to fill out electronically prior to the event.
