Her Wilderness Trip & Event Policies

At Her Wilderness, our mission is to create safe, empowering spaces where women can step into adventure and community. To ensure fairness, clarity, and consistency, please review the following policies before registering for a trip or event. By registering, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

Who Can Attend a Her Wilderness Trip or Event?
Any woman is welcome to join a Her Wilderness trip! We embrace participants from all walks of life and all levels of experience whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned outdoorswoman. Our trips are designed to encourage bonding and connection. While we don’t offer formal instruction, our coordinators and guides are always happy to provide guidance. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and enjoy this judgment-free space.

Can I Attend a Trip by Myself?
Absolutely! Many women attend solo and leave with lifelong friendships. This is a perfect way to step outside your comfort zone and meet like-minded women who share your love for adventure.

How Do You Sign Up for a Trip?
You can view all upcoming trips on our website and register for the one that interests you most. Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email from a trip coordinator, who will serve as your main point of contact. She’ll guide you through preparation, communication, and questions leading up to your trip.

Where Are These Trips Located?
Her Wilderness hosts events nationwide, and we have begun offering international travel opportunities. Have a destination in mind? Email us at questions@herwilderness.co. We love suggestions!

How Much Does It Cost to Attend a Trip?
Trips range from FREE events to $3,000+, depending on length, activities, and accommodations. We provide flexible payment plans. We work closely with guides and outfitters to deliver excellent value while keeping trips accessible.

Does It Cost Anything to Be a Her Wilderness Member?
There is currently no fee to become a Her Wilderness member. Join our free Community Facebook Group or subscribe to our email list for updates and early access to new adventures.

What Should I Bring on a Trip?
Before every trip, we host a virtual call to connect the group and review important details. You’ll also receive updates and packing suggestions from your trip coordinator. If you need additional assistance, email us anytime at questions@herwilderness.co.

Refunds, Credits & Cancellations | Deposits are always non-refundable and non-transferable.

  1. Additional payments may be refundable only if your spot is filled by another participant, and only if cancellation occurs more than 30 days before the trip.

  2. Refunds are processed after the trip concludes and are subject to a 4% merchant processing fee.

  3. If cancellation occurs within 30 days of departure, all payments are forfeited.

  4. In certain cases, a trip credit may be issued at Her Wilderness’s discretion. All credits and refunds must be used within 365 days (1 year) of issue. After this period, they expire and are forfeited.

  5. By registering, you acknowledge these terms and accept responsibility for meeting payment deadlines.

What If I Make a Late Payment?
Payments are due according to the posted payment schedule. You have a 5-day grace period to submit payment or request an extension in writing. After that, we assume your spot is forfeited, will move to our waitlist, and no refunds will be issued. For any payment-related questions, contact us at questions@herwilderness.co.

What Should I Do If a Trip Is Sold Out?
Join our waitlist! Click on the trip you are interested in registering for. Click the REGISTER NOW button and walk through the process as if you were going to register, it will prompt you to join the waitlist if the trip is sold out.

Can I Bring My Dog?
Because many of our outfitters work with professional guide dogs, personal pets are not permitted unless explicitly approved in writing. Requests may be considered case by case.

No Drama Policy!
Her Wilderness trips are built on respect, encouragement, and community. Adventure travel can involve shared accommodations, unpredictable weather, and other real-life challenges. We ask that all participants remain flexible, supportive, and positive.

  • If disruptive behavior or drama occurs, Her Wilderness reserves the right to remove participants without refund.

  • This policy protects the experience of the entire group.

Can I Bring My Kids?
For children under 18, please explore events through Little Wilderness. Select trips allow participants 18+ with advance approval from the trip coordinator.

Do You Cover Travel Expenses?
Unless specifically stated in the trip description, participants are responsible for airfare, gas, meals, and other travel expenses. Trip fees cover lodging and guided experiences where noted.

Do I Need a License to Participate?
Hunting, fishing, and firearm requirements vary by state. Participants are responsible for securing all necessary licenses and certifications (e.g., firearm safety). Her Wilderness provides guidance but cannot guarantee compliance. Failure to obtain required documentation may result in removal without refund and legal consequences on state and federal levels.

Can I Get My Own Lodging?
If lodging is included in a trip package, participants are expected to stay with the group. For trips without lodging, you are welcome to arrange accommodations independently.

Do Her Wilderness Trips Include a Tip?
As of January 1, 2022, guide gratuities are no longer included in trip costs. Tipping is at each participant’s discretion, based on the quality of service received.

Is There Anything We Must Sign to Participate?
All participants must sign a Her Wilderness liability waiver at the time of registration. Registration is not complete until the waiver is signed.

Force Majeure / Unforeseen Circumstances:

Her Wilderness reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or modify trips due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, illness, global events, outfitter cancellations, or other safety concerns. In such cases, refunds may not be issued; however, a trip credit may be offered at Her Wilderness’s discretion, subject to the 365-day expiration policy.

Health & Fitness Disclaimer

Since some activities are physically demanding, it’s important to state that participants are responsible for assessing their readiness: By registering, you acknowledge that you are physically and mentally capable of participating in the activities described. Please consult with a physician if you have concerns. Her Wilderness is not liable for injuries, illnesses, or conditions that may occur before, during, or after participation.

Photo & Media Release

Since you use photos for marketing and community purposes, it’s good to get blanket consent: By attending a Her Wilderness trip, you grant permission for photos and videos taken during the event to be used for marketing, educational, and promotional purposes, unless you request otherwise in writing before the trip.

Final Notes

Adventure comes with inherent risk and unpredictability. By registering, you acknowledge personal responsibility for your health, safety, and compliance with these terms. Her Wilderness reserves the right to update policies at any time for the safety and success of our community.
