TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION
We are off to Breaux Bridge in southern Louisiana for our second adventure with chasing Louisiana gators. Eight ladies will have the chance to do two days chasing after gators in the swamps. Plan to arrive around 2PM, on Friday for a meet and greet with your fellow hunters before we head out to bait our lines. After baiting lines we will hit the water for a night of bowfishing in Louisiana.
Saturday morning we will head out to check our lines, and hopefully get on some good gators! With this type of hunt, we never know what size gator we will come across until we get to the line. These gators can be anywhere from 7 foot to 12 foot, with our guides averaging 8’ 11” gators! After our morning line hunt, we will head back to our base camp for lunch and downtime, before getting back out on the water to reset our lines. After our lines are ready to go for the next day and dinner has been served, we will have another night of bowfishing in the Louisiana swamps.
Sunday we will wake up early to check our lines again, before departing mid-afternoon.
This hunt (and anyHer Wilderness adventure) is a chance to encourage and uplift other women. When our gals are harvesting an animal, we expect you to be encouraging, and supportive! You should be just as excited to watch your new friends harvest their animal, as you are to harvest your own!
LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS
Our base camp for the weekend will be a cozy houseboat. These house boats provide all the comfort of home, with the ultimate Louisiana experience. You may have to share a room or bed with your other hunters, please be prepared for that! The landing we will be staying at also generally has karaoke and a live band on Saturday nights!
This trip includes two days of hunting, two nights lodging, two nights of bowfishing, and meals from dinner Friday night - breakfast Sunday morning.
If you are intrigued by all that Louisiana has to offer, feel welcome to tack a couple extra days onto your trip before or after our hunting adventures! This trip includes two days of hunting, two nights of lodging in a houseboat, and all equipment needed to hunt.
TARGET SPECIES, REGULATIONS AND PROCESSING OF TAXIDERMY OR MEAT HARVEST PLAN.
We are targeting Louisiana gators for our hunt! On our bowfishing adventures you can expect to come across Asian carp - watch out as they may jump in your lap, catfish, and alligator gar. If you plan to have any taxidermy done with your gator, our guides can help with this! They have connections with a local taxidermist that is highly recommended. If you choose to have your taxidermist handle your harvest, our guides can prep the harvest to ship them home to you.
For this trip you will need a Louisiana Alligator Sport Hunter License. For residents the license cost is $25, and for non-residents the cost is $150.

Things not included in this trip:
-Any tips to your guides/outfitters - please wait to hear from your coordinator on a suggested tipping amount and plan to always bring cash for tipping. Tipping doesn’t apply to all trips.
-Transportation. Your airline or rental car is not included. Please do not expect to arrive at the airport and have a ride unless specifically planned out with someone.. We suggest that you wait to book any travel plans until you’ve talked with other girls going on the trip. Chances are other people are also flying/driving in and you will be able to coordinate plans with them. It is always cheaper to split a rental car 4 ways!
MEET YOUR COORDINATOR
Courtney will be your trip coordinator! She is from the midlands of South Carolina, and owns her own shooting accessory business. She was lucky enough to be introduced to the outdoors at a young age, and fell in love. Whether it be fishing, hunting, riding ATVs or just exploring and traveling to new places - Courtney is all about it! Since joining Her Wilderness, Courtney has been traveled to many new states and made memories to last a lifetime - but above all enjoys encouraging women to get in the outdoors, and #OwnYourWilderness. This will mark her second trip to Louisiana to wrangle gators, with this exact outfitter! We can’t wait to see you in Louisiana!
