TRIP COORDINATOR: AMANDA BRIANN

Last year’s trip was such a blast, we just had to do it again! We’re heading back to the stunning Pacific Northwest, specifically Hammond, Oregon, for an unforgettable women’s crabbing and bottom fishing adventure! Located right where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean, this is one of the most productive fisheries in the region. Over the course of two full days on the water, we’ll be setting and pulling multiple crab pots while casting for hard-fighting bottom fish like Sea Bass, Rockfish, and the prized Lingcod. As the crab pots fill up, you’ll be reeling in fresh fish and soaking up the views of Oregon’s beautiful coastal landscape. Every woman on the trip will get hands-on time pulling crab pots and catching fish this is a full participation experience! With generous daily limits of 12 Dungeness crabs and 5 bottom fish per person, make sure you bring a large cooler (or plan to buy one here). There will be no shortage of seafood to bring home—this is the ultimate coastal harvest experience! Whether you're a seasoned angler or new to fishing, this trip is designed to be fun, empowering, and unforgettable. With two amazing, knowledgeable guides and a small group of adventurous women, this is more than just a trip, it’s a chance to disconnect, connect with nature, and enjoy the thrill of harvesting your own fresh seafood. Spots are limited to just 6 women so don’t miss your chance to join us on this incredible adventure!

We will be catching bottom fish, which include Lingcod, Rockfish and Sea Bass, but not only will we be catching fish, we will be trapping Dungeness Crab. The limit for crab is 12 and 5 bottom fish, per person, per day. Both Friday and Saturday, we will head out of the boat launch early, fishing and trapping until late afternoon/evening. FUN FACTS! Dungeness crab are found in the Northeastern Pacific Ocean, from Alaska to Mexico. There are many different species of rockfish found in the Pacific Northwest. Rockfish is ideal for fish tacos and fish and chips.

Please plan to transport your fish and crab home with you. Our guides will do all of the processing and cleaning at the dock. You will have the option to have your crab steamed at the dock as well. If you will be flying with the fish/crabs, I highly recommend bringing a cooler, or purchasing a cooler on the trip and checking it onto the airplane. If you prefer not to carry on the airplane, shipping home can always be an option as well.  You will need an Oregon or Washington Angling & Shellfish license for this trip. There is an option for short-term fishing/shellfish licenses available (1-3 day options). Gear will be provided by the guide.

EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY

We want to ensure that every trip with Her Wilderness is enjoyable and memorable, but we acknowledge that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Mother Nature has a significant impact on our outdoor adventures, so we encourage you to approach each trip with a positive attitude and a "go with the flow" mindset. If this feels unreasonable to you, we kindly ask that you reconsider registering for our events. Weather can be unpredictable, affecting activities like hiking, hunting, and fishing, and our top priority is always your safety. For instance, if your trip is focused on duck hunting but our guide believes a goose hunt is more feasible, we will follow their expert recommendation. If this kind of flexibility is not something you're comfortable with, we encourage you to think twice about joining us. We expect all participants to maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the circumstances. Many of our trips have faced changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, yet the understanding and adaptability of the group have made all the difference that still allows for an incredible experience! We take pride in creating fun experiences, even in challenging situations. Please be aware that our trips may involve sharing accommodations with others, unpredictable weather that could impact planned activities, limited bathroom facilities for larger groups, and the possibility of not harvesting the specific animal you hoped for. These are real scenarios that can arise, and while we’ll do our best to minimize issues, they can happen. We strive to maintain a drama-free and stress-free environment. If any participant brings negativity or drama, they will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be allowed to return. Our goal is to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and valued, so we ask for your cooperation in keeping a cool, calm, and collected attitude throughout the trip. We truly appreciate each of our customers and are committed to providing the best possible experience for all participants. Thank you for understanding, and we look forward to creating unforgettable memories together!
