We're heading back for our THIRD YEAR to the picturesque Breaux Bridge for an action-packed weekend of alligator hunting and bow fishing. This trip, designed exclusively for women, offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the wild beauty of the Louisiana swamps, where you’ll chase gators, experience the thrill of bow fishing, and bond with fellow women looking for similar adventure. We only have 7 spots for this trip, so grab your spot and get ready for an incredible action packed weekend! This trip is all inclusive meaning your lodging, all of your meals and hunting is all included in the cost, just bring a little cash for a tip to your gator guide!
Optional Extension:
If you want to extend your adventure, feel free to tack on a couple of extra days before or after the hunting trip to explore more of what Louisiana has to offer. Whether you’re craving more outdoor adventure or want to experience the local culture, there’s something for everyone!

Friday – Welcome to Louisiana!
Arrive around 2 PM at the marina for a warm welcome and an exciting meet-and-greet with your fellow hunters. This is your chance to get to know the group, share your excitement, and prepare for what lies ahead. After introductions, we'll set out on boats to begin our alligator hunting adventure. The first task? Setting hooks and baiting lines. The anticipation is high, as you’ll be preparing for the next two days of action-packed hunting. Once the lines are baited, we’ll return to the marina for a delicious dinner, followed by a relaxing evening of camaraderie and storytelling under the stars.
Saturday – Alligator Hunt & Bowfishing Excitement!
Rise and shine! Early on Saturday morning, we’ll head back out on the water to check our baited lines for gators. The excitement builds as we never know what size gator we’ll find—gators in this area typically range from 7 to 12 feet, with our guides’ averages being around 8’ 11”! We will decide who gets to claim the first, second, and third gators by drawing numbers or straws, keeping the hunt fair for everyone. After we’ve checked the lines and hopefully landed some impressive gators, we’ll return to our base camp for a hearty lunch. Once we’ve refueled, we’ll hit the water again to reset the lines and prepare for another thrilling hunt the next day. But the excitement doesn’t stop there! Saturday evening, we’ll embark on a bowfishing adventure through the swamps. As you stand on the bowfishing boat, you’ll have the chance to shoot fish while witnessing the eerie glow of alligator eyes in the moonlight. This is a truly magical experience that combines the thrill of fishing with the awe-inspiring beauty of the Louisiana swamps.
Sunday – Final Hunt & Farewell
After a hearty breakfast on Sunday morning, we’ll check our lines one final time before wrapping up our thrilling weekend. We’ll depart in the mid-afternoon, but not before one last chance to take in the beauty of the swamp and share your unforgettable memories with your new friends.

Taxidermy Options:
If you’re interested in preserving your harvest, our guides have excellent connections with a highly recommended local taxidermist. If you choose to have your gator mounted, our guides will assist in prepping your catch for shipment to your preferred taxidermist.
Important Information:
License: To participate in the alligator hunt, you’ll need a Louisiana Alligator Sport Hunter License. For residents, the cost is $25, and for non-residents, the cost is $150. You can purchase your license here: Louisiana Alligator License.
Base Camp: You’ll stay aboard a cozy houseboat, providing all the comforts of home with the added bonus of the ultimate Louisiana experience. Please note that you may need to share a room or bed with other hunters.
Entertainment: On Saturday night, the landing where we stay often has karaoke and a live band—perfect for some fun after a day of adventure.

We want to ensure that every trip with Her Wilderness is enjoyable and memorable, but we acknowledge that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Mother Nature has a significant impact on our outdoor adventures, so we encourage you to approach each trip with a positive attitude and a "go with the flow" mindset. If this feels unreasonable to you, we kindly ask that you reconsider registering for our events. Weather can be unpredictable, affecting activities like hiking, hunting, and fishing, and our top priority is always your safety. For instance, if your trip is focused on duck hunting but our guide believes a goose hunt is more feasible, we will follow their expert recommendation. If this kind of flexibility is not something you're comfortable with, we encourage you to think twice about joining us. We expect all participants to maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the circumstances. Many of our trips have faced changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, yet the understanding and adaptability of the group have made all the difference that still allows for an incredible experience! We take pride in creating fun experiences, even in challenging situations. Please be aware that our trips may involve sharing accommodations with others, unpredictable weather that could impact planned activities, limited bathroom facilities for larger groups, and the possibility of not harvesting the specific animal you hoped for. These are real scenarios that can arise, and while we’ll do our best to minimize issues, they can happen. We strive to maintain a drama-free and stress-free environment. If any participant brings negativity or drama, they will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be allowed to return. TRIP REGISTRATION AND CONTACT INFORMATION
We’re thrilled to announce a new booking and payment system aimed at enhancing your experience! Starting October 1, 2024, all trip registrations will be processed through WeTravel. Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email via the WeTravel platform. Your trip coordinator will then reach out with detailed information about your adventure and schedule two virtual video meetings for all trip attendees. The coordinator will share their email and other contact information with you at their discretion, so please respect their boundaries and contact them only through the provided information. A quick reminder: personal social media profiles are not the best way to reach out to your coordinator. During the virtual meetings, hosted on Google Meet, you’ll discuss important details such as packing lists, travel plans, and more. To ensure smooth communication, please register with a valid email address that you check regularly.
