Pack your bags and saddle up for an unforgettable girls' getaway at the stunning Bar X Ranch in Medora, North Dakota! For 4 days and 3 nights, you’ll explore the breathtaking trails of Theodore Roosevelt National Park on guided horseback rides. Bring your own horse and get ready for an epic ride through the wild beauty of the Badlands.

We’ve reserved a charming log cabin right on the Missouri River as our cozy basecamp for the trip. It’s the perfect spot to kick back, share stories, and make memories after a day of adventure. If you prefer a more rustic experience, you’re welcome to stay in the living quarters of your own horse trailer, with electric hookups available for $30 per day.

Here’s a general outline of what the trip itinerary should look like, but please keep in mind that it may change throughout the trip, so come prepared to be flexible and embrace the adventure!

Day 1 - July 23: Arrival & Welcome

  • Arrive by 4:00 PM: Check-in and get settled at the cabin or your trailer.

  • Evening: Kick things off with a relaxing short trail ride to stretch your legs and get acquainted with the stunning landscape and other women on the trip.

  • Dinner & Social: After the ride, gather together for dinner and a fun social session. This is the perfect time to meet your fellow adventurers, share stories, and bond over a fantastic meal.

Day 2 - July 24: Adventure Day

  • Morning: Start the day with a 3-hour guided trail ride through the breathtaking Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Prepare for some truly scenic views and an unforgettable ride.

  • Afternoon: After your ride, take part in some prairie dog shooting (a local favorite!), followed by a hike through the Badlands to explore even more of the park's stunning terrain.

  • Sunset: Cap off the day with a relaxing moment to watch the sunset over the Badlands – the colors are incredible!

Day 3 - July 25: More Riding & Iconic Medora Fun

  • Morning: Enjoy another 3-hour ride through the park, continuing to explore the rugged beauty of the Badlands on horseback.

  • Afternoon: In the evening, get ready for two of Medora’s most iconic experiences: the Medora Musical and the Pitchfork Steak Fondue. Begin the evening with a lively, outdoor musical performance celebrating the spirit of the West, followed by a delicious dinner at the Pitchfork Steak Fondue, where you’ll dine on perfectly cooked steaks while taking in the stunning views of the Badlands.

Day 4 - July 26: Free Day & Departure

  • Morning & Afternoon: Enjoy a free day to relax, explore more of the area at your own pace, or just unwind with your new friends. Whether you want to check out more trails, visit local shops, or simply enjoy some quiet time, the day is yours.

  • Evening: Depart for home, taking with you memories of a wild, adventurous, and unforgettable getaway!

This trip is all about fun, relaxation, and outdoor exploration. You’ll get to try your hand at prairie dog shooting, hike the scenic Badlands, PLUS no trip to Medora would be complete without experiencing two of its most iconic attractions: the Medora Musical and the Pitchfork Steak Fondue – both of which are unforgettable highlights of the trip!
