We are heading to Broken Bow, Nebraska for an amazing weekend of turkey hunting that promises to be one for the books! Join us as we venture into the beautiful Nebraska woods to chase the elusive Merriam Turkeys. This unique subspecies, primarily found in the western mountain regions, adds an extra thrill to our hunt, making it a truly special experience. Our guides will be with us every step of the way, graciously scouting the area and calling in the birds. With a 2-to-1 guide-to-hunter ratio, you’ll receive personalized attention and ample opportunity to connect with your target. Whether you're an experienced hunter or new to the sport, our guides will ensure that everyone has a fair chance to harvest a turkey while enjoying the excitement of the hunt. Plan to arrive anytime after 4:00 PM on Friday, ready to kick off an exhilarating weekend. After two days filled with hunting, camaraderie, and the thrill of the chase, we’ll prepare to depart by 10:00 AM on Monday. This weekend is not just about hunting; it’s about camaraderie, adventure, and creating lasting memories in the great outdoors. Get ready for an unforgettable experience filled with excitement, skill, and the beauty of nature!
LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS
We will be staying at the Outfitters Hunting Lodge in Broken Bow, Nebraska! Our cozy 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom lodge comfortably sleep our small group of 4 as this lodge sleeps up to 8 guests, featuring 3 queen beds and a trundle bed upstairs. Fully furnished with everything you need, it’s the perfect home base for our adventure. We’ll come together as a group to prepare delicious meals in the spacious kitchen, sharing stories and laughter as we fuel up for our hunting excursions.
TARGET SPECIES, REGULATIONS AND PROCESSING OF TAXIDERMY OR MEAT HARVEST
We’ll be targeting the magnificent Merriam Turkeys, known for their unique beauty and challenge. If you’re not a Nebraska resident, make sure to secure your Non-Resident Spring turkey permit along with a $25 habitat stamp. Our guides will assist us in the field, ensuring we have an exciting and successful hunt! After the hunt, we’ll be cleaning our harvested turkeys and preparing them for the journey home. If you’d like to have your turkey mounted, you can bring it home for taxidermy or opt to take just the fan for a beautiful display. For those flying, we recommend freezing the meat and either carrying it on or storing it in checked luggage. Don’t forget to bring extra trash bags to keep the meat safe during travel!
DEPOSIT + PAYMENT INFORMATION
We are able to offer this fully guided hunt at only $1,800 per person, which will include a nonrefundable deposit of $450 and 3 additional payments of $450. Please read carefully: All payments must be made by their due dates. If you anticipate a delay, we encourage you to communicate with us, and we will do our best to work with you. However, if payments are overdue and we have not heard from you, we will assume you are forfeiting your spot, and any payments made will not be refunded. EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY
We want to ensure that every trip with Her Wilderness is enjoyable and memorable, but we acknowledge that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Mother Nature has a significant impact on our outdoor adventures, so we encourage you to approach each trip with a positive attitude and a "go with the flow" mindset. If this feels unreasonable to you, we kindly ask that you reconsider registering for our events. Weather can be unpredictable, affecting activities like hiking, hunting, and fishing, and our top priority is always your safety. For instance, if your trip is focused on duck hunting but our guide believes a goose hunt is more feasible, we will follow their expert recommendation. If this kind of flexibility is not something you're comfortable with, we encourage you to think twice about joining us. We expect all participants to maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the circumstances. Many of our trips have faced changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, yet the understanding and adaptability of the group have made all the difference that still allows for an incredible experience! We take pride in creating fun experiences, even in challenging situations. Please be aware that our trips may involve sharing accommodations with others, unpredictable weather that could impact planned activities, limited bathroom facilities for larger groups, and the possibility of not harvesting the specific animal you hoped for. These are real scenarios that can arise, and while we’ll do our best to minimize issues, they can happen. We strive to maintain a drama-free and stress-free environment. If any participant brings negativity or drama, they will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be allowed to return. Our goal is to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and valued, so we ask for your cooperation in keeping a cool, calm, and collected attitude throughout the trip. We truly appreciate each of our customers and are committed to providing the best possible experience for all participants. TRIP REGISTRATION AND CONTACT INFORMATION
We’re thrilled to announce a new booking and payment system aimed at enhancing your experience! Starting October 1, 2024, all trip registrations will be processed through WeTravel. Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email via the WeTravel platform. Your trip coordinator will then reach out with detailed information about your adventure and schedule two virtual video meetings for all trip attendees. The coordinator will share their email and other contact information with you at their discretion, so please respect their boundaries and contact them only through the provided information. A quick reminder: personal social media profiles are not the best way to reach out to your coordinator. During the virtual meetings, hosted on Google Meet, you’ll discuss important details such as packing lists, travel plans, and more. To ensure smooth communication, please register with a valid email address that you check regularly.
