TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION

We are heading to New Albin, IA for an amazing weekend of ice fishing! This will be a trip to remember as we are heading out onto the mighty Mississippi in search for some good panfish and perch! We will be accessing the ice in style on high powered airboats! Our guides will be busy the days before making sure they can put us on some good schools of fish. Which will hopefully allow everyone to catch fish! An Iowa Fishing License is required. This trip will accommodate 10 women, giving everyone a great experience and ample opportunity to catch fish! Have your own ice fishing gear? Bring it along! No worries if you don’t, our guide is willing to supply us with equipment if it’s needed! Our guide will be providing the live bait, extra tackle, ice shacks, heaters and safety equipment. In our downtime we will spend time getting to know one another and taking in the wonderful views of the overlooking bluffs that Lansing, IA has. If you are worried or hesitant because you’ve never tried this before, set your worries aside! Our guides will make this an amazing experience! Plan to arrive anytime after 5 P.M. on Friday. Prepare to leave Sunday after 3pm.

LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS

Please be prepared to share a room and a bed with another girl. This rental also has a full size kitchen, spacious living room to hangout and relax in as well as a beautiful valley view to enjoy. We will have plenty of space to move around amongst each other and cook food as a group!

TARGET SPECIES, REGULATIONS AND PROCESSING OF TAXIDERMY OR MEAT HARVEST PLAN.

We are ice fishing for panfish and perch! An Iowa Fishing License is required for this trip. We will be up early in the morning on Saturday and Sunday. We will spend 8 hours on the ice each day with our guide. Our guide will help us clean our fish after our day on the ice which will allow you the opportunity to take some fresh fish home with you! If you are flying, we will need to freeze the meat and carry it on or store it in checked luggage. On Saturday after we return to our air bnb from a day of fishing, we will have our evening free to hangout in the lodge, explore Lansing/New Albin, and eat some good food!

FAQ’S AND POLICY

Yes, this is the boring part. BUT it’s important. We ask each person who registers for a trip to go and visit the FAQs and Policy page of our website. If you register for a trip before reading this information that is on you! There is a lot of great info found there that may or may not sway your decision. Please check out all of our FAQs + Policy page on our website BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR A TRIP WITH US! Thank you!

EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY

There are times that our trips do not go exactly as planned. Mother nature plays a large role in how we are able to spend time outdoors. We ask that you come into every single Her Wilderness trip with a positive attitude and “go with the flow” mindset for the duration of your trip. If that seems unreasonable, we kindly ask that you do not register for our events. The weather is unpredictable and can impact hiking, hunting, fishing, and our number #1 priority, your safety! For example, if your trip is geared towards hunting ducks, but right now the guide can only confidently offer a successful goose hunt, we will go with the guide's recommendation. If a situation like this will upset you then please do not register for a trip with us. We expect every woman to have a positive attitude no matter the circumstances. We have had plenty of trips get canceled, rescheduled or have plans changed with no issues simply because the group was understanding and made the best of the situation they were given. We pride ourselves in how fun our trips can be even in the most unfortunate of circumstances. If you are often considered “high maintenance” or tend to get stressed out then we kindly want to let you know that our trips are not a good fit for you. You may have to share a bed with a stranger, the weather may not allow us to participate in an activity, there may not be any showers available, there may only be 1 bathroom for 10 women, you may not harvest the animal you wanted to get, there could be someone on the trip that you just don’t vibe with. All of these scenarios are real and they happen. We will do our best to filter and prevent what we can before it becomes an issue. All of our trips and events are a drama and stress free zone! If you are the source of any drama you will be asked to leave with no refund given and you will not be welcome back. We always want to ensure that our customers are comfortable and taken care of. We will always ask that you have a cool, calm and collected attitude. If you are unable to maintain a good attitude in a variety of circumstances we ask that you refrain from registering for a trip. We appreciate each and everyone of our customers and want to ensure the best experience for all of our attendees!
