Get ready for an unforgettable adventure—this is not your typical hunting trip! Join us for two thrilling evening hunts targeting one of the most notorious invasive species in the Everglades: the Burmese python. These massive reptiles have wreaked havoc on the local ecosystem, and we’re heading out to help control their numbers while experiencing the wild beauty of the Everglades at night.
Our expert guides will take us on boats into the heart of the Everglades, where we’ll spotlight these stealthy snakes as they lurk along the edges of the water. Armed with a scent dog trained to track pythons, our guide will help us locate these elusive creatures. Once a python is found, the guide will expertly distract it while we grab hold of its tail and carefully pull it out of its hiding spot. From there, we’ll work together to secure the snake behind its head and allow the guide to dispatch it quickly and humanely. It’s an adrenaline-pumping experience, full of teamwork and excitement.
The hunt takes place in the evenings, with two separate sessions to maximize our chances of success. Be prepared for a one-of-a-kind adventure that combines action, skill, and conservation. This is an opportunity to contribute to the delicate balance of the Everglades ecosystem while enjoying the thrill of the hunt!
We’ll be staying in a beautiful, spacious Airbnb in Fort Lauderdale, Florida—perfectly located for our Everglades expeditions. The house features 4 cozy bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Be ready for a fun and social atmosphere, as you'll be sharing rooms and bathrooms with the other women on this trip. For downtime, you’ll love the private pool in the backyard—ideal for cooling off after a day of hunting! The home also has a fully equipped kitchen for cooking meals, spacious common areas for relaxing, and a large backyard perfect for lounging. We’ve even got cornhole set up for some friendly competition when you're not hunting. So don’t forget your bathing suit and your competitive spirit!
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS + REGULATIONS:
On this trip, our primary target is the invasive Burmese python. These snakes have become a major threat to the Everglades ecosystem, and hunting them is both a thrilling and important part of ongoing conservation efforts. The best part? No hunting license is required for this trip, making it easy for everyone to jump in and help make a difference. If you’d like to take home a souvenir, our guide offers taxidermy services or the option to have custom snake leather made for an additional cost. However, please note that eating python meat is not recommended due to its high mercury content, so we’ll be focusing on the conservation aspect of the hunt rather than harvesting the meat.
AIRPORTS + TRAVEL INFORMATION
To keep travel costs low and ensure you’re connected with other participants, we recommend booking your flight after joining the Facebook group for the trip. This way, you can coordinate with others, share rental car or Uber costs, and make the experience even more enjoyable.
The nearest airport is Miami International Airport (MIA), located about 30 miles from the Airbnb. Once you land, you’ll be a short drive away from our accommodations and the excitement that awaits!

We want to ensure that every trip with Her Wilderness is enjoyable and memorable, but we acknowledge that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Mother Nature has a significant impact on our outdoor adventures, so we encourage you to approach each trip with a positive attitude and a "go with the flow" mindset. If this feels unreasonable to you, we kindly ask that you reconsider registering for our events. Weather can be unpredictable, affecting activities like hiking, hunting, and fishing, and our top priority is always your safety. For instance, if your trip is focused on duck hunting but our guide believes a goose hunt is more feasible, we will follow their expert recommendation. If this kind of flexibility is not something you're comfortable with, we encourage you to think twice about joining us. We expect all participants to maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the circumstances. Many of our trips have faced changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, yet the understanding and adaptability of the group have made all the difference that still allows for an incredible experience! We take pride in creating fun experiences, even in challenging situations. Please be aware that our trips may involve sharing accommodations with others, unpredictable weather that could impact planned activities, limited bathroom facilities for larger groups, and the possibility of not harvesting the specific animal you hoped for. These are real scenarios that can arise, and while we’ll do our best to minimize issues, they can happen. We strive to maintain a drama-free and stress-free environment. If any participant brings negativity or drama, they will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be allowed to return. Our goal is to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and valued, so we ask for your cooperation in keeping a cool, calm, and collected attitude throughout the trip. TRIP REGISTRATION AND CONTACT INFORMATION
We’re thrilled to announce a new booking and payment system aimed at enhancing your experience! Starting October 1, 2024, all trip registrations will be processed through WeTravel. Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email via the WeTravel platform. Your trip coordinator will then reach out with detailed information about your adventure and schedule two virtual video meetings for all trip attendees. The coordinator will share their email and other contact information with you at their discretion, so please respect their boundaries and contact them only through the provided information. A quick reminder: personal social media profiles are not the best way to reach out to your coordinator. During the virtual meetings, hosted on Google Meet, you’ll discuss important details such as packing lists, travel plans, and more. To ensure smooth communication, please register with a valid email address that you check regularly.
