GRIDLEY, CA | WOMEN’S CALIFORNIA GOOSE HUNT
TOTAL COST: $1,200 | DEPOSIT: $300 (THIS IS NON REFUNDABLE)
REGISTRATION OPENS: FRIDAY 07/03/2026
COORDINATOR: SAM SIMMA
There are few places in North America more iconic for waterfowl hunting than California’s Sacramento Valley. Endless rice fields, massive migrating flocks, cold December mornings, and the unmistakable sound of geese working overhead create an experience every waterfowl hunter should witness at least once. Join Her Wilderness for an unforgettable women’s goose hunting adventure in the heart of legendary California rice country. This exclusive small group experience is intentionally limited to just six women, allowing for a highly personalized, supportive, and community driven atmosphere both in and out of the blind.
We will be based near Gridley, California, where our family-owned outfitter has spent years building trusted relationships with local farmers throughout the valley to secure access to premium private hunting ground in some of the region’s most productive migration corridors. Each day, our guides carefully select hunting locations based on current bird movement, weather patterns, feeding activity, and pressure conditions. By staying mobile and rotating between carefully managed properties, we are able to consistently hunt fresh, high traffic areas between feeding and roosting zones throughout the trip. Participants should plan to arrive the afternoon of December 9th to get settled, meet the group, and prepare gear before our first morning hunt. We will hunt the mornings of December 10th and 11th before wrapping up by approximately 11 A.M. on the final day, allowing time for afternoon travel home after an unforgettable few days in California goose country.
Depending on conditions, hunts may take place from:
• Pit blinds
• Panel blinds
• Layout blinds
Throughout the experience, experienced guides and highly trained retrievers will handle the work behind the scenes while you focus on enjoying the hunt, improving your skills, and soaking in the excitement of waterfowl season in one of the country’s most respected hunting destinations.
Expect:
• Crisp December mornings in the rice fields
• Massive flocks of geese working overhead
• Stunning sunrise views across the valley
• Plenty of laughter and storytelling in the blind
• The kind of camaraderie that only comes from sharing a hunt with an incredible group of women
Whether you are newer to waterfowl hunting or already experienced in the blind, this trip is designed to create an encouraging environment where women can learn, grow, and fully immerse themselves in the experience together.

Travel insurance
If you are planning to purchase travel insurance for your Her Wilderness trip, PLEASE purchase it NOW and do not wait until right before departure. Many travel insurance policies require coverage to be purchased within just a few days of your initial trip registration or first payment in order to qualify for the best and most comprehensive coverage options. Waiting too long can limit what is covered or completely remove eligibility for certain protections.
We highly encourage ALL Her Wilderness participants to purchase travel insurance shortly after registering for a trip. Ideally, travel insurance should be purchased within just a few days of booking in order to maximize your coverage options and help protect your investment.
Travel insurance can help provide protection for things such as:
• Flight cancellations or delays
• Lost or delayed baggage
• Rental car issues
• Unexpected medical emergencies
• Additional lodging expenses caused by travel disruptions
• Trip interruptions or cancellations
• Weather related delays
• Emergency transportation needs
While we sincerely hope every trip goes perfectly smoothly, travel is unpredictable and unexpected situations can happen. Having travel insurance in place can provide peace of mind and financial protection should something outside of your control arise before or during your adventure.
REGISTRATION & COMMUNICATION
All registrations are completed through the WeTravel platform, where you will receive confirmation and payment management support. After booking, your coordinator will contact you with next steps, access to your private trip group, and invitations to scheduled virtual meetings. To ensure communication is efficient and organized, coordinators will provide their preferred contact method and will not communicate through personal social media accounts.
