TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION

Get ready because we are heading to Kenosha, WI and I hope you are ready to hit the water on Lake Michigan, aboard a 31’ Pacemaker Flybridge. Our captain  is going to take us to some of his best locations on Lake Michigan as we search for fish-rich grounds and have a lot of fun too!  Lake Michigan holds a lot of target fish such as Brown Trout, Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Chinook Salmon, and Coho Salmon. There is no experience needed, as they provide all the equipment we need to be successful and will even clean our catches to take home. The only thing you will need to provide is a WI fishing license and a fun attitude, willing to make memories with possible strangers, that may become your lifelong friends.

Plan to arrive Friday afternoon, where we will get settled in and get to know each other. We can stay in and do dinner at the airbnb or explore the town and check out the restaurants. Saturday morning we will plan to hit the water early for a 8 hour trip on the Lake before heading in, you will have the afternoon to relax and explore the area, which is home to many museums, lighthouses and more! We will head out for the last trip of the weekend Sunday morning chasing the fish (fingers crossed we limit out) and then head back in to help clean our catches and package them up to head home. If this sounds like something you are interested in and want to do, tell a friend, sister, mom, aunt, cousin, etc. and sign up for this trip because it is definitely one you won’t want to miss!

LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS

We will be staying in an airbnb in or near Kenosha, WI to ensure we are close to the docks.  Please keep in mind that you may need to share a bed with someone you may not know and we may be limited to one bathroom, so please remember to be courteous and kind to the other women on this trip. The airbnb will have a kitchen with a refrigerator that has a freezer so you don’t have to worry about where you will keep your catch after we get off the boats. If you are more comfortable bringing your own bedding, pillows, towels, etc. you are more than welcome to do so.

TARGET SPECIES, REGULATIONS AND PROCESSING OF TAXIDERMY OR MEAT HARVEST PLAN.

We will mainly be fishing for coho salmon, these fish can be identified by two dorsal fins including one adipose fin, dark blue to green back with silver sides, white belly, and wide caudal peduncle. Inside of the mouth white and gums between teeth gray or white, but tongue may be black. Small dark spots on back, sides and typically on the upper lobe of caudal fin. Thirteen or more rays in anal fin.  The average adult Great Lakes coho salmon weighs five pounds. Even though coho’s will be our main target, it doesn’t mean that we don’t have the chance to hook into a King Salmon, Steelhead Trout, Brown Trout, or Lake Trout.

If you catch something that you would like to mount, our guide can help you with taxidermy suggestions and help with any prep that may be needed. The total daily bag limit is 5 trout and salmon in total, but only 2 may be Lake trout and the possession limit is 10 per person.
