TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION
Join us as we head to Oolagah, OK for an amazing weekend of crappie fishing! Our guide will be taking us out on Lake Oologah to target large schools of crappie. An Oklahoma Fishing License is required. This trip will accommodate 5 women, giving everyone a great experience and opportunity to catch some slabs! We will have two action packed half days of fishing on this trip. If you are worried or hesitant because you’ve never tried this before, set your worries aside! Our knowledgeable guide will provide all equipment necessary and will receive expert guidance, giving us valuable tips to improve our fishing techniques! You will walk away from this trip with an understanding of different bait selection for crappie and the targeting strategies when fishing on a lake. Plan to arrive anytime after 4 P.M. , on Friday, June 21st. Prepare to leave Sunday June 23rd, mid to late afternoon.
LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS
We will be staying in a large AirBNB in Oologah, OK. The house offers 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, and two twin beds. You will be sharing a bedroom with other women on this trip and may need to share a bed, so please be prepared for that. There is a large living room and a fully stocked kitchen for us to prepare our crappie filets! There is also a private backyard with a patio and a fire pit to take advantage of during our down time! We will be just a few minutes away from Lake Oologah, and only 15 minutes from the town of Oologah.
TARGET SPECIES, REGULATIONS AND PROCESSING OF TAXIDERMY OR MEAT HARVEST PLAN.
We will be targeting crappie on this trip! Lucky for us, Lake Oologah produces some of the best crappie in Oklahoma! You will need an Oklahoma Fishing License for this trip. The daily limit for crappie is 37 per person per day. This trip will involve an educational component, as our knowledgeable guide will be teaching us bait selections, targeting strategies, and casting techniques. You will walk away from this trip confident in your crappie fishing capabilities. At the end of each day, our guide will filet our fish and package them in freezer bags for us to take home. So be sure to bring your cooler!

Things not included in this trip:
-Any tips to your guides/outfitters - please wait to hear from your coordinator on a suggested tipping amount and plan to always bring cash for tipping. Tipping doesn’t apply to all trips.
-Transportation. Your airline or rental car is not included. Please do not expect to arrive at the airport and have a ride unless specifically planned out with someone.. We suggest that you wait to book any travel plans until you’ve talked with other girls going on the trip. Chances are other people are also flying/driving in and you will be able to coordinate plans with them. It is always cheaper to split a rental car 4 ways!
-Meals are not included in the cost of this trip. We will plan to enjoy the local cuisines or cook at our lodging accommodations!
MEET YOUR COORDINATOR
Dorian will be your trip coordinator! Dorian grew up hunting and fishing on her family farm in the lowcountry of South Carolina. Her love for the outdoors began with whitetail deer hunting as an 8 year old. She soon began hunting doves, ducks, turkeys and bass fishing. In 2021, Dorian went on her first Her Wilderness trip and was hooked! Since then she has been able to harvest species of animals and go on experiences she never thought would be possible. When Dorian isn’t hunting or fishing, you can find her with her 3 labradors. Dorian’s favorite thing about Her Wilderness is the lifetime friends she has made and being able to introduce new women into the strong, supportive Her Wilderness community.

Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to a private facebook group for this specific trip. This group is where you can connect with other trip attendees, ask your trip coordinator questions, and receive additional trip details. You can discuss packing lists, travel plans, and more. Please be sure you use a valid working email to register for this trip. If you do not have a facebook account please send an email to questions@herwilderness.co so that we can make the appropriate accommodations to get you additional trip details. Please read carefully: please make all payments by their due dates. If payments are late we will always work with you. however if there is no communication we will assume you are forfeiting your spot and any payments made will not be refunded. By registering for any wilderness trip you are under the full understanding that there are no refunds. by registering for this trip you understand that your deposit is non-refundable with no exceptions.
