You aren't ready for this! Join us for our third annual Battle of the Bows shoot out. Last year 40+ women went head to head in a competition styled shoot out. This year we are bringing together MORE women from all over the nation for a one night shoot out in FIVE different states. You must register for one of our 5 events to participate in the competitive shoot. The shoot will be held on Saturday June 8th and you will go out the night before for some scouting and practice shooting! All 5 of the Battle of the Bows events will include 2 evenings with a professional boat captain and lodging for the whole weekend (FRIDAY - SUNDAY) This is a great way to get introduced to Bowfishing while taking a weekend away to hang out with like minded women! You do not need any experience to participate in this friendly shoot out, however we will be hosting different giveaways and contests through out the weekend for those who are connecting with fish no matter the shape, size or species!
We will be joining our Minnesota coordinator Andrea Charlebois to offer another bow fishing trip this year for our Battle of the Bows shoot out! For years, bowfishing was considered an archery enthusiast’s game, or a bowhunter’s offseason fad. But over the last decade or so, this fishing technique has become a beloved sport for thousands of outdoor lovers. Fun and unique, bowfishing requires absolutely no previous angling experience, making it perfect for newbie fishers. If you’re looking to make your first bowfishing steps, you’ve come to the right place. We will be on or near the Ottertail river near Dent, MN for 2 nights of bow fishing. We will be staying 2 nights at Hutch’s Hideout. This is a beautiful private home nestled on Little McDonald Lake offering both recreation and leisure. The home is located in the heart of Minnesota's beautiful Lakes Area, just 30 minutes from the towns of Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls. Plan to arrive Friday afternoon for an afternoon of relaxation and fun to hit the water that night for our scouting and practice shooting evening. On Saturday, plan to relax at the Hideout, enjoy the beach or bring a fishing pole for the lake. We will meet our guides on Saturday evening for a night on the river and let the shoot out begin! You can plan to head home on Sunday around noon. You will need to purchase a MN Angling License for this trip. The guides will be providing everything needed for a successful bow fishing trip. We can’t wait for you to join us on our amazing bow fishing trip in lakes country, in the heart of Minnesota. You’ll have the opportunity to shoot rough fish such as carp, red horse, white sucker and 72 other different species of fish! Who’s ready to bow fish?
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS + REGULATIONS:
A Minnesota fishing license is needed for this trip. A 72-hour Nonresident Fishing License costs $36. You can buy it online here or at a local Walmart.
TRIP ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS
Welcome to Hutch’s Hideout! This amazing private property boasts 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchen’s, 3 family/living rooms and a walk out basement that leads right to 100’ of shoreline and beach!
The basement is ground level which walks out to a sandy beach. There is a huge deck on main overlooking the lake. (You can watch the sunrise and usually the moon rise from here). For those looking to be more active we have 2 hydro bikes, 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards. There is also an aluminum fishing boat we can use. This is a pristine, quiet lake with 31’ of clarity! You’ll be able to see the fish!

This trip includes 2 nights of bowfishing, 2 nights of lodging. We are able to offer this weekend at a price of $650 per person, which will be a non-refundable deposit of $250 and 2 payments of $200

AIRPORTS + TRAVEL INFORMATION
The nearest airport is the HECTOR International Airport in Fargo, ND (FAR), which is about 70 miles from Hutch’s Hideout. We recommend waiting to book your flights to be in sync with the other women attending to make traveling from the airport to the cabin easier. Andrea, this trip’s coordinator, has graciously offered to pick up trip attendees if everyone flies into the same airport. With some logistical coordination, she is able to pick up attendees from either airport.

This group is where you can connect with other trip attendees, ask your trip coordinator questions, and receive additional trip details. You can discuss packing lists, travel plans, and more. Please be sure you use a valid working email to register for this trip. If you do not have a facebook account please send an email to questions@herwilderness.co so that we can make the appropriate accommodations to get you additional trip details. Please read carefully: please make all payments by their due dates. If payments are late we will always work with you. however if there is no communication we will assume you are forfeiting your spot and any payments made will not be refunded. By registering for any wilderness trip you are under the full understanding that there are no refunds. by registering for this trip you understand that your deposit is non-refundable with no exceptions.
