TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION

We are heading to the beautiful Ouray, CO also known as “Little Switzerland”- for a 3 day weekend of waterfalls! On the day of our arrival, we will all meet at the AirBnb. This is located in Ridgeway, CO just 16 minutes from the town of Ouray. Please arrive no later than 5pm. This allows for time to do meet and greets and bond with everyone prior to our busy weekend! After meet and greets, we can grab a bite to eat or grab a drink in town! We will kick off our trip early Saturday morning  by doing a beginner combo tour rappelling two different waterfalls- Angel Creek & Portland Creek. There is no experience needed. With that being said, you should still have a reasonable level of fitness as this trip can be physically trying and the altitude of Ouray is over 7,000 feet.

This tour is a full day trip. It starts at Angel Creek to get comfortable and learn the ropes.  Our guides will teach us all there is to know about gear, safety, and climbing! The technique does not change, but adaptation is a must as there will be different heights, difficulties, weather and a variety of conditions of the waterfall that day. We will begin around 8:30 AM climbing the first fall. We will then enjoy a provided local lunch, and head out for a larger rappel in Portland Creek. The highest drop on this trip is 60 ft tall and you can expect the total duration to be 5-8 hours long. Free Photos are included.

Our second day will be hiking and exploring this scenic mountain town. We will get the opportunity to hike Box Canyon Falls and Upper Cascade Falls.

Box Canyon is a very popular, quick loop hike, to  the waterfall that cascades 85 feet- spilling thousands of gallons of water per minute. We can view the waterfall by hiking above or below it as it's surrounded by 100 foot quartzite walls! There will be plenty of time for sightseeing, photos, shopping, dining, and drinks!

Upper Cascade Falls is a 4.5 mile round trip hike. This hike's highest elevation is 10,030 feet! We will go through oaks and pines, through an old mine, overlooking peaks and ridges to get to our viewing point of the Cascade Falls!

After a long day of hiking and exploring - we will all meet at the Ouray Hot Springs for a night of much needed relaxation! Fun Fact… The geothermal water is sourced from the ground at Box Canyon Waterfall! The springs are nestled down in a beautiful valley surrounded by snow capped mountain peaks. There are 5 pools full of natural minerals at different temperatures ranging from 75-104 degrees. There are lap pools, waterslides, a climbing wall- but also an adults only area where you're sure to find quiet time to rest and relax!

On our final day we will depart by 10AM and start our travels back home!
