TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION

Are you ready for a  weekend of “glamping” on the beautiful North Shore of Minnesota! We have never done anything like this before and we cannot wait to share this incredible weekend with you! Glamping is truly like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. It is the perfect mix of rough and rugged while being pampered in the middle of the wilderness.

Our 3 day, 2 night event will take place on the shores of Lake Superior in Schroeder, MN at Lambs Resort. Although glamping will be a whole experience within itself there will be ample opportunities for outdoor activities throughout the weekend! You can arrive anytime after 3pm CST on Friday afternoon. You will show up to a fully furnished glamping experience.

Picture this: You arrive at your site to see 5 canvas tents pitched and placed with intention. Each tent has 4 cozy cot styled beds with bedding to match! The soft lighting and decor in each tent is unique and gives you just the right amount of a “homely” feel so that you don’t feel as if you’re even camping! When you walk outside of your tent you can smell the bonfire and hear the waves meeting the shore of Lake Superior!

Plan to get settled in, get comfortable and maybe explore the shore of beautiful Lake Superior right from our glamping site! There are also other streams and rivers that you could check out with your fishing pole for a few hours before sunset! Or, maybe you just want to relax in your glamping tent, taking photos and enjoying a fire. The Schroeder Baking Company is within walking distance from Lamb’s Resort and has coffee, milkshakes, pizza, wraps, scones!

We will plan to wake up on Saturday to a yoga instructor leading us through some beginner yoga flow! We will have a professional photographer joining us on Saturday morning to ensure that you get the perfect glamping photo! She will also be capturing candid moments of everyone participating in yoga, drinking their morning coffee and getting ready for our afternoon hike! After yoga + photos, we will get our hiking shoes on and spend most of our day as a group exploring and hiking the nearby trails and state parks! Plan to pack a light lunch/snacks in a backpack for the day. After a full afternoon of hiking we will head back to our “glamp site” to cook a campfire supper. We will work together as a group to decide who is bringing what and host a “campfire potluck.” There is a general store just 4 miles north of us that sells groceries and other items if needed!

We will plan to explore these hiking areas on Saturday as a group.

  • Superior Hiking Trail : Take the spur trail up the Cross River to access the main trail, then head northeast to the Temperance River or southwest to the Cramer Road. Access is also easy from the Sawbill Trail, the Onion River Road, and the Ski Hill Road.

  • SugarLoaf Cove: Cared for by an organization that focuses on land stewardship, the site offers interpretive trails, a beautiful cobblestone beach, and 1.1 billion year old lava flows. It is located on Lake Superior, eight miles southwest of Lamb's.

  • Temperance River State Park: We are one mile from the Temperance River, one of the most popular hiking areas on the North Shore.

We will not be able to see and do everything simply because of how much this area has to offer! If you are able to, we recommend coming early on Friday or staying later Sunday to check out a more of the nearby trails and state parks. Here are a few more areas we suggest checking out if you are able to!

  • Cascade River State Park: There is a good restaurant here in addition to hiking trails, 20 miles from Schroeder.

  • Tettegouche State Park: The beautiful Baptism River and Shovel point offer gorgeous lake views and the highest waterfall in Minnesota, only 20 miles southwest.

  • Judge C. R. Magney State Park: This park is 45 miles away, northeast of Grand Marais, but its Devil's Kettle is worth the drive.

  • Gooseberry Falls State Park: Stop here on your way if you're driving from Duluth, we're another 40 miles northeast.

The Schroeder Baking Company has food and other items that you can take advantage of rather than packing food for this trip!
