Plan to arrive in the afternoon, around 4 P.M. CST, on Friday and departing in the afternoon, around 12;00 P.M. CST, on Sunday. Upon registration for this trip, you will be emailed a link to a private Facebook group where you can connect with other trip attendees, ask questions of the trip coordinator, and receive additional trip details.
TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION
We will be joining our Minnesota coordinator Andrea Charlebois to offer another bow fishing trip this year! For years, bowfishing was considered an archery enthusiast’s game, or a bowhunter’s offseason fad. But over the last decade or so, this fishing technique has become a beloved sport for thousands of outdoor lovers. Fun and unique, bowfishing requires absolutely no previous angling experience, making it perfect for newbie fishers. If you’re looking to make your first bowfishing steps, you’ve come to the right place. We will join North Country Bowfishing on the Ottertail river near Dent, MN for 1 night of bow fishing. We will be staying 2 nights at Bell's Resort Bar and Grill. This is a charming resort nestled at the northernmost bay of Star Lake offering both recreation and leisure. The resort is located in the heart of Minnesota's beautiful Lakes Area, just 30 minutes from the towns of Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls.
Plan to arrive Friday late afternoon for a night of relaxation and fun. On Saturday, plan to relax at the resort, tour the town or even bring a fishing pole for the lake. We will meet our guides on Saturday evening for a night on the river. You can plan to head home on Sunday around noon.
This trip includes 1 night of bowfishing, 2 nights of lodging and a generous tip to our guides. We are able to offer this weekend at a price of $300 per person, which will be a non-refundable deposit of $100 and 1 payment of $200. You will need to purchase a MN Angling License for this trip. The guides will be providing everything needed for a successful bow fishing trip, however travel is not included.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS + REGULATIONS:
A Minnesota fishing license is needed for this trip. A 72-hour Nonresident Fishing License costs $36. You can buy it online here or at a local Walmart.

AIRPORTS + TRAVEL INFORMATION
The nearest airport is the HECTOR International Airport in Fargo, ND (FAR), which is about 67 miles from Bell’s Resort. We recommend waiting to book your flights to be in sync with the other women attending to make traveling from the airport to the Resort easier. Andrea, this trip’s coordinator, has graciously offered to pick up trip attendees if everyone flies into the same airport. With some logistical coordination, she is able to pick up attendees from either airport. Tentatively plan to arrive sometime in the afternoon (12 - 4 P.M.) on Friday, August 19th and depart in the afternoon (12 - 4 P.M.) on Sunday, August 21st.

HOWEVER IF THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION WE WILL ASSUME YOU ARE FORFEITING YOUR SPOT AND ANY PAYMENTS MADE WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. WE WILL THEN REACH OUT TO OUR WAITLIST AND GET YOUR SPOT FILLED BY ANOTHER PARTY. BY REGISTERING FOR ANY HER WILDERNESS TRIP YOU ARE UNDER THE FULL UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. We are able to offer a partial refund only if we fill your spot with a member on the waiting list. At that time we may be able to refund any additional payments made outside of your deposit. Your deposit is NOT refundable. If your spot does not get filled, we will not be able to offer a refund.
