Life is made up of seasons. Some seasons feel full of energy, you’re healthy, motivated, disciplined, and moving through your days with purpose. Other seasons feel heavy. It can take everything in you just to get out of bed, show up for work, and push through the basics. And here’s the truth: both are normal.
The rhythms of life will always ebb and flow. To navigate them well, we need to give ourselves permission to rest, to extend grace, and to forgive ourselves when we don’t cross everything off our to-do lists. Productivity does not equal worth.
The Reality We Don’t Always Talk About
We live in a world where depression, anxiety, and chronic illness affect so many before you even add in the “everyday” challenges of family, finances, work deadlines, and household responsibilities. A common cold, a pile of laundry, or unexpected bills can feel overwhelming when you’re already stretched thin. And while social media paints the picture of perfect homes, perfect families, and endless achievements, not a single life is as polished as it appears online. The less glamorous parts of life are just as real and they deserve to be normalized.
Giving Yourself Grace
When you find yourself in a season of weariness, here are a few gentle reminders:
Rest is productive. Your body and mind need recovery just as much as they need action.
Grace matters. Be kind to yourself when you fall short. Tomorrow is a new day. Next week or next month will come.
Comparison steals peace. What you see on social media is not the full story. Focus on your own path. You are not the people you see online and you should be PROUD of that.
Finding Support in Community
One of the most important tools for navigating these seasons is community. Having people you can be honest with, whether to share frustrations, victories, or even just to say, “I’m struggling right now”, can lighten the load. Accountability, encouragement, and shared experiences remind us we’re not walking through life alone. At Her Wilderness, this is what we’re here for. Beyond the adventures and trips, we are a space where women can show up authentically, be seen in their struggles, and be supported in their growth.
Whatever season you’re in right now, whether it’s full of fire or full of fog, remember: it’s just a season. It will shift, it will change, and you will make it through. Hold onto hope, lean into rest when you need it, and surround yourself with people who will walk alongside you.
