As we celebrate year two, we’d like to thank all of the women who have ever joined us on a trip, the guide services who have taken the time to facilitate our adventures, and the women who have put in countless hours planning and coordinating our events. It’s from these collective contributions that we’ve managed to stay true to the Her Wilderness mission. From all of us at Her Wilderness: thank you for helping us get to where we are today. Not only are we excited for where we’re headed, we’re grateful that you’re joining us on the journey forward.
In 2019, I walked away from an abusive relationship with nothing: no money, no friends, no sense of who I was. I found healing in the outdoors with my dog Pepper, and without even realizing it, I was slowly creating the community I desperately needed. Her Wilderness didn’t start as a business idea, it started as a lifeline. A reminder that stuck doesn’t mean staying stuck, and that sometimes the most beautiful things grow out of the most broken places.
