TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION

We are off to the beautiful beach village of Islamorada, Florida for another exciting adventure in the ocean! Six ladies will have the chance to do TWO full days of Lobster Netting/Grabbing in the sunny Florida Keys. Islamorada is  a village of islands just 90 minutes south of Miami. This place is truly a paradise that you will love to explore by land and by sea. Islamorada is known as the "Sportfishing Capital of the World," and hosts the largest fishing fleet per square mile in the world. The variety of fishing is endless in this beautiful ocean town! For this trip we will be chasing after Florida lobsters or spiny crawfish, whichever name you prefer. The process of lobster netting/grabbing is simple. We will be out in the bright, blue Florida Key waters with nets and snorkels ALL DAY LONG! Once a lobster is spotted on the ocean floor you will dive down 7-10 feet with your net in one hand. Use the net on the lobster and grab the tail with your other hand. Then return to the surface. Our instructor will be in the water with us guiding us through the entire process to ensure our success. While snorkeling we will also get to take in the beauty of the ocean floor and we will come across so many different colorful species of fish. Our guides will be providing all the gear for this trip. Just bring a positive attitude,  your bathing suit and some extra sunscreen! Free diving is no easy task so we ask that you are a proficient swimmer. We also want you to have some experience with a snorkel. This trip will be much more enjoyable for you if you are able to free dive down anywhere from 5-9 feet in the water. We will have instructors in the water with us as we learn the ropes together!

Plan to arrive after 4PM, on Wednesday for a meet and greet with your fellow divers, followed by dinner. Thursday will be our first day of our lobstering adventure, so plan to be on the water most of the day! If we are not too exhausted from our day of fishing, we can find a local restaurant and an evening adventure near our Airbnb. Friday will be our second day of Lobster netting and by this time we will all be professionals! We will get back to the dock on Friday at about 3 or 4 PM, just in time to hit a local restaurant for dinner before a good night of rest! We will have the airbnb booked for this extra day to provide some downtime before we depart back to Miami on Saturday to fly home.

Since we will be hitting the water in August in Florida, keep in mind that it will be HOT and HUMID. We will be heading out to fish early in the morning both days, so it will be cooler early on but will warm-up throughout the day. This trip includes 2 days of lobstering, three nights stay in an Airbnb, and all equipment needed to fish.
