  • This trip is active and adventurous! We’ll be moving between lodges, fishing early mornings, and making the most of every moment. Rest assured—we’ve balanced the thrill with downtime and cozy nights.

Please note: This itinerary is weather and fishing dependent. Alaska’s conditions are unpredictable, and some activities may shift or change, but in all previous years, these changes have never diminished the quality of the trip. We always have an amazing time, no matter what.

ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 1 - Arrive at Anchorage Airport by 11:00 AM. From there, we’ll begin our scenic drive down the Sterling Highway to our accommodations in Soldotna. After settling into our cozy Airbnb, we’ll spend the evening relaxing and connecting with each other before the adventure kicks off.

Day 2 - We’ll fish the renowned Kasilof River during the peak sockeye salmon run. Float or drift along 9 miles of protected waters with moose, eagles, and wilderness all around. Whether you’ve never held a rod or are an experienced angler, our expert guides will stand beside you in the water, helping fine-tune your sockeye technique for the best possible catch. All equipment is provided.

Day 3 - This bucket-list day starts with a 30-minute scenic float plane ride across Cook Inlet to Big River Lakes. Once landed, you'll board a boat with your guide and spend the day fishing for sockeye and watching wild bears fish alongside you, sometimes from just 30 feet away! Wildlife sightings include brown and black bears, eagles, otters, and more. The return flight, weather permitting, includes a stunning glacier flyover. This is a full-day adventure you will never forget.

Day 4 - Sleep in and recharge before we pack up and head toward Homer, Alaska. Along the way, take in incredible Alaska views. Once in Homer, we’ll explore the Homer Spit, home to vibrant shops, beach walks, and fresh-caught seafood. We’ll wind down the day with dinner before settling into our new lodging.

Day 5 - It’s your day, how you spend it is up to you. Explore town, kayak the bay, hike a nearby trail, enjoy an oceanfront coffee, or book an extra excursion like a wildlife tour or additional fishing charter. This open day is built in so you can follow your curiosity and make space for rest or more adventure.

Day 6 - We’ll head out on a halibut charter into Kachemak Bay to fish for these legendary flatfish. You’ll have expert instruction, stunning views, and the chance to spot sea otters, whales, seals, and eagles. In the evening, we’ll stop by Homer Fish Processing to arrange processing and prep for your catch.

Day 7 - We are waking up to heading Northbound. We will spend most of the day behind the wheel stopping to ensure all of our fish is boxed up together and shipped off home. Once we get back to Anchorage we’ll enjoy a farewell meal at Simon & Seafort’s—one of Anchorage’s best restaurants with views to match. Please book your return flight after 8:00 PM to allow for travel, dinner, and airport check-in.

Additional costs to keep in mind

We want to make sure you feel fully prepared and confident heading into this trip! Below is a breakdown of common additional expenses outside of your trip fee. • Rental Vehicle Share – Estimated $300 per person
This covers your share of a large group rental van and fuel for the week.
