TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION
Get ready for year five of our unforgettable conservation snow goose adventure in South Dakota! After experiencing incredible hunts with Northern Skies over the past few years, we couldn't resist booking another trip. During South Dakota's conservation season, it means NO PLUGS and NO LIMITS, giving us the thrilling chance to harvest an impressive number of birds. This is an experience you'll remember for a lifetime! Let's keep our fingers crossed for great weather and excellent hunting!
Arrival: Plan to arrive at the stunning Double P Ranch lodge on Thursday afternoon (after 5 PM). Once settled in, we’ll have dinner together and get to know one another. We’ll turn in early, as we’ll be up at the crack of dawn for our first morning hunt on Friday!
Hunting Schedule: We’ll hunt both Friday and Saturday from 5 AM to 11 AM, followed by a lunch break at the lodge. After some well-deserved rest, we’ll head back into the field from 3 PM until sunset. If the hunting is exceptional, we may stay out all day and not return to the lodge midday!
Sunday Departure: You’re welcome to depart at any time on Sunday, but we’ll need to check out of the lodge by 11 AM.
Accommodations: Your trip cost includes two full days of guided snow goose hunting and three nights at our lodge. Please note that accommodations will involve sharing a room, bed, and bathroom with fellow hunters, so be prepared for a communal experience!
Meals: Meals are not included, but the lodge is equipped with a full kitchen for your convenience. There’s also a grocery store just down the road, making it easy to stock up on supplies. We can host a pot luck and go out and enjoy some of the local restaurants for meals!
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS + REGULATIONS:
When participating in snow goose hunting in South Dakota, it's essential to be aware of the state’s regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Here’s what you need to know:
Hunting License: All hunters must possess a valid South Dakota hunting license. Non-residents can purchase a non-resident small game license.
Federal Migratory Bird Stamp: A Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp (commonly known as a Duck Stamp) is required for all hunters aged 16 and older who intend to hunt migratory birds, including snow geese.
State Migratory Bird License: Additionally, hunters are required to obtain a South Dakota Migratory Bird License, which is specific to hunting waterfowl.
Bag Limits: During the conservation season, there are generally no bag limits for snow geese. However, hunters should verify any changes or specific regulations prior to the hunt.
Plugged Shotguns: In South Dakota, there are no restrictions on the number of shells in your shotgun during the conservation season for snow geese.
Hunting Hours: Hunting is typically allowed from half an hour before sunrise until half an hour after sunset. Always confirm the exact times for the specific season.
Usage of Decoys and Calls: Hunters may use electronic calls and unlimited decoys to attract snow geese during the conservation season.

The upper level boasts a vaulted Great Room with a spacious open kitchen and a walk-out wrap-around deck that overlooks the charming Double P orchard. EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY
We want to ensure that every trip with Her Wilderness is enjoyable and memorable, but we acknowledge that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Mother Nature has a significant impact on our outdoor adventures, so we encourage you to approach each trip with a positive attitude and a "go with the flow" mindset. If this feels unreasonable to you, we kindly ask that you reconsider registering for our events. Weather can be unpredictable, affecting activities like hiking, hunting, and fishing, and our top priority is always your safety. For instance, if your trip is focused on duck hunting but our guide believes a goose hunt is more feasible, we will follow their expert recommendation. If this kind of flexibility is not something you're comfortable with, we encourage you to think twice about joining us. We expect all participants to maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the circumstances. Many of our trips have faced changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, yet the understanding and adaptability of the group have made all the difference that still allows for an incredible experience! We take pride in creating fun experiences, even in challenging situations. Please be aware that our trips may involve sharing accommodations with others, unpredictable weather that could impact planned activities, limited bathroom facilities for larger groups, and the possibility of not harvesting the specific animal you hoped for. These are real scenarios that can arise, and while we’ll do our best to minimize issues, they can happen. We strive to maintain a drama-free and stress-free environment. If any participant brings negativity or drama, they will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be allowed to return. Our goal is to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and valued, so we ask for your cooperation in keeping a cool, calm, and collected attitude throughout the trip. We truly appreciate each of our customers and are committed to providing the best possible experience for all participants. Thank you for understanding, and we look forward to creating unforgettable memories together!
