TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION

There’s a reason Sonoma County Vintners has deemed each April “Sonoma County Wine Month.” Spring in Sonoma County means sampling the bounty of fresh food and new wines, enjoying wildflowers opening their blooms… things are just a little brighter and fresher this time of year. The energy of spring in wine country will leave you feeling renewed, refreshed and ready to drink it all in. Join Her Wilderness as we head to Sonoma, California for a weekend of sipping wine among the vineyards. The world’s most sustainable and diverse wine region, Sonoma County is home to more than 60 varieties of wine crafted across 19 American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) and more than 425 wineries. While we can’t visit them all during this Her Wilderness adventure, we’re determined to bring you some of the highlights!

Upon arriving in Sonoma County on Thursday, our group will stroll through some shops on our first evening and enjoy getting to know each other over dinner. On Friday, our first full day together, we will embark on a luxurious food and wine tour. Our private group will receive chauffeured transportation, as well as wine tastings and small bites at two Sonoma wineries. Once the tour has concluded in the early afternoon, everyone is granted some free time–for some this might mean embarking on some additional winery visits, maybe a nap back at the Airbnb, perhaps some more exploring downtown, or we can walk off the wine on the Sonoma Overlook Trail. This easy, three-mile hike offers stunning views of Sonoma, the Sonoma Valley, and the Bay Area.

Saturday morning, our group is booked on a half-day biking tour. This tour, while it will require some minimal effort, will allow our group to revel in the history and beauty of Sonoma’s countryside on quiet, bike-friendly roads. Led by a local tour guide well-versed in local history and wine knowledge, our tour will include a tasting at a local olive oil factory and a stop at one winery. Please note, unlike yesterday’s tour, the wine tasting during the biking tour is not included in the cost of this trip. Because our biking tour concludes at 1:00 p.m. we have another afternoon and evening to do some DIY exploring! Again, more wineries and wine tastings await, but our group may also head to the nearby Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve to walk through some of the world’s tallest trees. Saturday evening, we will share one more dinner together before heading back to our cozy accommodations. In the morning, everyone is welcome to depart at their leisure, but checkout is at 10 a.m. We highly recommend sticking around the area on Sunday to do some additional exploring if you wish!

Included in the cost of this trip is three nights of lodging at a cozy country cottage, a food and wine tour that includes transportation and two winery tasting/food pairings experiences, and our half-day bike tour.

LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS

We will be staying at a centrally located Airbnb that truly embodies what it means to be surrounded by wine country! Given its location, this three bedroom, two bath country cottage is the perfect jumping off point for all of our adventures. There is plenty of common space for everyone to spread out and enjoy, and the yard space is rustic, yet cozy. Each room has a queen or king-sized bed, meaning that each woman will have to share a bed, so please be prepared for that!

If you register for a trip before reading this information that is on you! There is a lot of great info found there that may or may not sway your decision. Please check out all of our FAQs and Policy information here BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR A TRIP WITH US! Thank you!

Things not included in this trip:

-Any tips to your guides/outfitters - please wait to hear from your coordinator on a suggested tipping amount and plan to always bring cash for tipping. Tipping doesn’t apply to all trips.

-Transportation. Your airline or rental car is not included. Please do not expect to arrive at the airport and have a ride unless specifically planned out with someone.. We suggest that you wait to book any travel plans until you’ve talked with other girls going on the trip. Chances are other people are also flying/driving in and you will be able to coordinate plans with them. It is always cheaper to split a rental car 4 ways!

EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY

There are times that our trips do not go exactly as planned or advertised. Mother nature plays a large role in how we are able to spend time outdoors. We ask that you come into every single Her Wilderness trip with a positive attitude and “go with the flow” mindset for the duration of your trip. If that seems unreasonable, we kindly ask that you do not register for our events. The weather is unpredictable and can impact hiking, hunting, fishing, and our number #1 priority, your safety! For example, if your trip is geared towards hunting ducks, but right now the guide can only confidently offer a successful goose hunt, we will go with the guide's recommendation. If a situation like this will upset you then please do not register for a trip with us. We expect every woman to have a positive attitude no matter the circumstances. We have had plenty of trips get canceled, rescheduled or have plans changed with no issues simply because the group was understanding and made the best of the situation they were given. We pride ourselves in how fun our trips can be even in the most unfortunate of circumstances. If you are often considered “high maintenance” or tend to get stressed out then we kindly want to let you know that our trips are not a good fit for you. You may have to share a bed with a stranger, the weather may not allow us to participate in an activity, there may not be any showers available, there may only be 1 bathroom for 10 women, you may not harvest the animal you wanted to get, there could be someone on the trip that you just don’t vibe with. All of these scenarios are real and they happen. We will do our best to filter and prevent what we can before it becomes an issue. All of our trips and events are a drama and stress free zone! If you are the source of any drama you will be asked to leave with no refund given. We always want to ensure that our customers are comfortable and taken care of. We will always ask that you have a cool, calm and collected attitude. If you are unable to maintain a good attitude in a variety of circumstances we kindly ask that you refrain from registering for a trip. We appreciate each and everyone of our customers and want to ensure the best experience for all of our attendees!
