We are excited to head back to McGregor, MN for our third trip with our friends at the Ruffed Grouse Society in the north woods! Please plan  to arrive at the cabin the evening of Friday October 8th anytime after 5pm. We will hang out and have adequate time to settle in before an early morning hunt the next day. We will stay in a beautiful log cabin! Be sure to bring your own blanket and pillow, you may have to share a bed or be a bunk bed mate.  We will be hosting a group pot luck the evening of the 9th after we are done hunting. No guns or ammo will be provided, a 12 or 20 gauge shotgun is recommended with a lighter game load shell. You can depart anytime on Sunday the 10th. Some women will stay and hunt again in the morning and some will take off right away, it is totally up to you.

This trip is offered at only $75 per person so be sure to register right away! This will include a 1 year Ruffed Grouse Society Membership, two nights of lodging and the main course of your meal Saturday evening. But, please remember to bring snacks, lunch and a side to share! You are required to obtain a Minnesota Small Game license in order to participate on this trip.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: PLEASE MAKE ALL PAYMENTS BY THEIR DUE DATES. IF PAYMENTS ARE LATE WE WILL ALWAYS WORK WITH YOU. HOWEVER IF THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION WE WILL ASSUME YOU ARE FORFEITING YOUR SPOT AND ANY PAYMENTS MADE WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. WE WILL THEN REACH OUT TO OUR WAITLIST AND GET YOUR SPOT FILLED BY ANOTHER PARTY. BY REGISTERING FOR ANY HER WILDERNESS TRIP YOU ARE UNDER THE FULL UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. We are able to offer a partial refund only if we fill your spot with a member on the waiting list. At that time we may be able to refund any additional payments made outside of your deposit. Your deposit is NOT refundable. If your spot does not get filled, we will not be able to offer a refund.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Minnesota Small Game with HIP Certification…

HIP (Harvest Information Program)

Minnesotans who hunts migratory birds--not just ducks and geese, but woodcock, snipe, rails and mourning doves too--are reminded they must become "HIP"-certified when they purchase a small game or sports license.

"HIP" stands for Harvest Information Program, an annual program in which hunters provide information that helps biologists manage North America's incredible migratory game bird populations.

Migratory bird hunters need to make sure that their license agents get them signed up for "HIP" when they purchase their small game or sports licenses. When a hunter is properly signed up, the license will have the words "HIP Certification" listed on the customer's small game or sports license.

Hunters must carry proof of their participation in "HIP" wherever they hunt migratory birds. Hunters who hunt migratory birds without proof of participation in the "HIP" program can be ticketed or fined.

NEAREST AIRPORT: The closest airport is is Duluth international. DLH  (Approximately 1 hour 19 minutes from the cabin). Minneapolis MSP International is 2 hours 23 minutes from the cabin. We recommend waiting to book your flights to be in sync with the other women attending, you are likely to find someone to carpool with or split a rental vehicle.
