WOW! Next spring, Her Wilderness is stepping into something deeply meaningful. We’re inviting a group of women to join us on our second mission trip: a 7-day immersive experience in Belize where we’ll walk in faith, serve with open hearts, and be part of something far bigger than ourselves.
This journey is designed especially for women who have never done anything like this before. You do not need prior mission experience, travel experience, or ministry experience to join us. Right now, we have a group of women who have done this with us in Belize before and for almost all of them it was their very first mission trip. You don’t have to be a perfect Christian, you don’t have to know everything about the bible, you do not have to be fluent in prayer. We just ask that you come with no expectations and allow God to move through you and grow you during the week. If you have a heart to serve and a willingness to learn, you will fit right in. This trip isn’t about perfection, it’s about saying yes.
For this trip, we’re prioritizing safety, comfort, and peaceful rest after long ministry days.
We’ll be staying at a Hotel & Restaurant with a secure, beachfront location with:
Comfortable shared rooms (2 per room, each person gets their own bed)
On-site restaurant
Pool
Easy access for team gatherings, meals, and debriefs
This will be our home base throughout the week until we transfer to the coast for our island free days.
Belize Mission Trip Itinerary Overview
Day 1 – Arrival in Belize
Arrive in Belize City by midday and travel together to Corozal, where our week of ministry begins. After settling into our accommodations, we will gather for dinner, introductions, and a meaningful start to our time together.
Day 2 – Church + Community Connection
We begin the day at the church, connecting with the local community through Sunday service, fellowship, and preparation for the week ahead. This day allows us to build relationships, gather supplies, and step into the heart of the mission.
Days 3–5 – Ministry in Action
These 3 days will be full and impactful days spent serving within the community. Mornings will include outreach through food distribution and home visits, while afternoons will focus on hands on ministry opportunities such as Vacation Bible School and construction projects. Each day will close with shared meals, reflection, and time together as a group.
Day 6 – Adventure + Island Transition
We will travel from Corozal with a stop to explore ancient Maya ruins, followed by a scenic journey to the island of Caye Caulker. This day blends culture, history, and a shift into a more relaxed pace as we head into the final part of our trip.
Day 7 – Island Reset Day (optional - cost is not included)
Enjoy a full free day on Caye Caulker. Spend your time snorkeling, exploring the island, relaxing by the water, or simply soaking in the beauty of Belize. We will reconnect as a group for a final evening together.
Day 8 – Departure
We will travel back to Belize City for departures. Please plan flights for later in the day to allow for a smooth return.
Trip Highlights
Our ministry focus will center around four core areas. These may adjust slightly once our final community placement is assigned, but these are our confirmed pillars of service:
1. Food Ministry Distribution
We will assemble and distribute food bags to 40 families in need and distribute them to the local community in the church we serve, plus a small village nearby. Our team has a dedicated budget to purchase supplies locally (rice, beans, flour, oil, canned goods, etc.). This ministry allows us to meet real, immediate needs while praying for and encouraging families.
2. CONSTRUCTION
While we still don’t know what this will look like we understand there is a deep need for HELP here in this community. We will continue to pray with and over the church we are serving to see where they need this help. We may build a house for someone in need. We may assist in physically planting a church. This ministry will take a lot of dedication and a lot of fundraising.
3. Vacation Bible School (VBS)
We’ll lead a three-day themed VBS for 50-100 children in the community. We have a dedicated budget for this ministry and our hope is to roll over unused funds from other projects to enrich this program even more. Expect songs, crafts, lessons, joy, and so much laughter.
4. Women’s Bible Study Night
We’ll host a women’s ministry night at our partner church, introducing a 5-week Bible study and gifting each woman with a study workbook. The women will continue the study for the four weeks after we leave, allowing the impact to continue long past our time there.
Free Day + Island Add-On
We have a half free day built into the itinerary, a cultural adventure fully planned by our ministry partners. In addition, our group decided to extend our time together with an extra night of rest and celebration at the end of the week. We’ll spend Thursday, April 29 (included) and Friday, April 30th (extra) on Caye Caulker Island, a dreamy, laid-back coastal community known for turquoise water, golf carts, and slow island living. The day that we travel and arrive to the island is all included in this cost, but anything you want to do see, eat or buy is not included.
What It Means to Serve
Mission work isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about showing up. Open, willing, and ready to be used. When we serve, we reflect the heart of Jesus: humble, compassionate, and present. Whether we’re teaching children, supporting a women’s group, painting a wall, or simply listening, we’re helping build something that lasts long after we return home: relationships, encouragement, and hope. If you’ve ever felt that quiet nudge to do something that matters, this is your invitation. You don’t need a background in ministry. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to say yes.
Why Belize?
With its turquoise waters, palm-lined beaches, and vibrant Caribbean culture, Belize is as breathtaking as it is welcoming. But beyond the beauty, this small Central American nation also holds great need and a deep openness to partnership and faith. Belize is the only country in Central America where English is the official language, making it easy to build real, meaningful connections with the people we serve. April is one of the best times to visit: warm (but not stifling) temperatures, sunny skies, and dry conditions make it ideal for both ministry and exploration. Think mid-80s days, cool breezes, and tropical sunsets that will leave you in awe. Our trip is powered by a trusted partner with decades-long relationships in Belize. They’ll match us with a local church or ministry where our gifts will make the greatest impact and they’ll be with us every step of the way.

Lets talk about fundraising
This year we are doing something a little different. We are asking each woman to raise at least $500. If everyone reaches this goal, we will have about $12,000 to support construction projects and other needs for the church. This is not meant to come out of your own pocket. Instead, we will work together and come up with ideas to reach this goal. This could look like hosting a bake sale, asking your local church for support, sharing your trip with friends and family, or getting creative in your own community. Her Wilderness will also support this effort by selling shirts and donating the profits. There are many ways to make this happen, and we will help you along the way. We simply ask that everyone contributes and takes part in reaching this goal together.
Who This Is For
This trip is for the woman who’s ready to do something that truly matters. Whether you’re coming with a friend, your daughter, or on your own, you’ll be welcomed just as you are. You don’t need ministry experience. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to show up with a heart to serve and a willingness to grow. We believe there’s something powerful about women gathering in faith, stepping into the unknown together, and using their gifts to make a lasting impact. This is not a retreat. It’s a calling. And we are so honored to walk into it with you.
Where We’ll Serve
Our ministry location in Belize will be selected based on the needs of our trusted local church partners. We have an established relationship with a church in Corozal District and we will share that privately with the group once we start meeting!
Safety & Support
Safety is a top priority. Our mission partner provides in-country staff who are trained, experienced, and with us 24/7. From secure transportation and lodging to emergency protocols and purified water, every detail is covered to ensure a peaceful, protected experience for our team.
Meals
Enjoy three delicious meals a day, freshly prepared and safe to eat, with a blend of Belizean flavors and familiar comforts. We’ll accommodate dietary restrictions as best we can, and we recommend bringing a few personal snacks if you have more specific needs.

Travel insurance
If you are planning to purchase travel insurance for your Her Wilderness trip, PLEASE purchase it NOW and do not wait until right before departure. Many travel insurance policies require coverage to be purchased within just a few days of your initial trip registration or first payment in order to qualify for the best and most comprehensive coverage options. Waiting too long can limit what is covered or completely remove eligibility for certain protections.
We highly encourage ALL Her Wilderness participants to purchase travel insurance shortly after registering for a trip. Ideally, travel insurance should be purchased within just a few days of booking in order to maximize your coverage options and help protect your investment.
Travel insurance can help provide protection for things such as:
• Flight cancellations or delays
• Lost or delayed baggage
• Rental car issues
• Unexpected medical emergencies
• Additional lodging expenses caused by travel disruptions
• Trip interruptions or cancellations
• Weather related delays
• Emergency transportation needs
While we sincerely hope every trip goes perfectly smoothly, travel is unpredictable and unexpected situations can happen. Having travel insurance in place can provide peace of mind and financial protection should something outside of your control arise before or during your adventure.
REGISTRATION & COMMUNICATION
All registrations are completed through the WeTravel platform, where you will receive confirmation and payment management support. After booking, your coordinator will contact you with next steps, access to your private trip group, and invitations to scheduled virtual meetings. To ensure communication is efficient and organized, coordinators will provide their preferred contact method and will not communicate through personal social media accounts. For general questions or assistance, please email questions@herwilderness.co. We can’t wait to adventure with you!
