Join us for our third year hunting the wild beauty of the Pacific Northwest. This fall, we’re heading to Cathlamet, Washington, for an unforgettable women-only waterfowl hunting weekend. With just 6 spots available, this small group experience offers the perfect blend of skill-building, outdoor adventure, and community. Together, we’ll spend two days chasing a mixed bag of ducks and geese in one of the most dynamic waterfowl habitats in the country, the Columbia River and surrounding flooded fields. Whether you're a first-time hunter or a seasoned outdoorswoman, this hunt is for you. Our experienced guides will handle scouting and setup, and they’ll be by your side to ensure you feel confident, safe, and supported in the blind. No prior experience needed, just bring your gear and a readiness to learn. Also, don’t worry if you’ve never hunted waterfowl from a blind or cleaned a bird, we’ll guide you through the whole process. This is a great chance to learn hands-on skills in a supportive, no-pressure environment. If you’d like to mount a bird, you can either take it home or coordinate with a local Washington taxidermist.

What to Expect

  • Targeting Mallards, pintail, wigeon, teal, geese and more

  • Two full hunting days - Saturday & Sunday

  • Goose Hunt: One day dedicated to Canada geese, with opportunities for ducks over flooded fields

  • Group Size: Only 6 women to keep the experience personalized and supportive

You’ll need to bring your own gear, including:

  • Shotgun and shotgun shells (non-toxic shot required)

  • Knife and gallon ziplock bags for bird cleaning

  • Waders (we’ll be hunting on water and in fields)

  • Soft-sided cooler for transporting meat (especially if flying)

Bag Limits:

  • Ducks: 7 per day per hunter (14 total for the weekend)

  • Canada Geese: 2 per day per hunter (4 total for the weekend)

License & Permit Requirements for Nonresident Hunters

To participate in this hunt, you’ll need the following for Washington state:

  • Washington State Hunting License

  • Small Game License

  • Migratory Bird Permit

  • Federal Duck Stamp (required for waterfowl hunters 16 and older)

  • Migratory Bird Authorization

  • Washington Goose Permit

We’ll help guide you through the licensing process if you're unfamiliar with it, our goal is to make it as smooth and simple as possible.

Why This Trip?

This hunt is about more than just harvesting birds. It’s about stepping into your power, learning new skills, and building real connections with other women who share your passion for the outdoors. There’s something uniquely empowering about rising before dawn, heading into the field, and sharing the blind with a crew of supportive, adventurous women. FAQ’S AND POLICY

Yes, we know this part might seem a bit tedious, but it’s important! We kindly ask that everyone who registers for a trip visits the FAQs and Policy page on our website. If you sign up for a trip without reviewing this information, it’s your responsibility. There’s a wealth of valuable information there that could influence your decision. Please make sure to check out all the FAQs and Policies on our website before signing up for a trip with us. Thank you!

TRIP EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY

At Her Wilderness, our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and empowering outdoor experience for every woman who joins us. That said, outdoor adventures come with a level of unpredictability, especially when weather, wildlife, and group dynamics are involved. We ask all participants to bring a flexible mindset and a positive attitude. Weather conditions, guide recommendations, and other factors may require last-minute changes to activities, schedules, or game pursued (for example, switching from a duck hunt to a goose hunt if conditions call for it). These decisions are made with your safety and the quality of the experience in mind. If adaptability and going with the flow are not things you're comfortable with, we respectfully suggest reconsidering your participation in our trips.

What You Can Expect:

  • Outdoor conditions may change plans—including hunts, hikes, or water access.

  • You may share lodging with others.

  • Some locations may have limited facilities.

  • There is no guarantee of harvesting a specific species.

  • We do everything we can to deliver a great experience—no matter the challenge.

What We Expect:

  • A respectful, go-with-the-flow attitude.

  • Willingness to adapt to changes in schedule or activity.

  • Zero tolerance for drama, negativity, or behavior that impacts the group.

We maintain a strict no-drama policy. Any participant who brings negativity, disrupts the group dynamic, or disrespects staff or others will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be invited back to future events. We are here to build community, confidence, and lasting memories in the outdoors. Thank you for being part of that mission and for helping us keep our trips positive, welcoming, and fun for all!

TRIP REGISTRATION AND CONTACT INFORMATION

We’re thrilled to announce a new booking and payment system aimed at enhancing your experience! Starting October 1, 2024, all trip registrations will be processed through WeTravel. Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email via the WeTravel platform. Your trip coordinator will then reach out with detailed information about your adventure and schedule two virtual video meetings for all trip attendees. The coordinator will share their email and other contact information with you at their discretion, so please respect their boundaries and contact them only through the provided information. A quick reminder: personal social media profiles are not the best way to reach out to your coordinator. To ensure smooth communication, please register with a valid email address that you check regularly. If you have any questions or need assistance regarding the trip, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at questions@herwilderness.co. We look forward to making your experience exceptional!
