Our houseboat will come equipped with two fishing boats to give us access to areas that the houseboat can’t reach. Whether you're an experienced angler or just starting out, you'll have plenty of chances to cast your line, learn new techniques, and maybe even catch your new personal best!

Bonding and Relaxation:  While the days are filled with excitement and adventure, the evenings will be all about winding down and creating lasting memories. DAY 1 – Arrival

Afternoon: Welcome aboard! Arrive at Rainy Lake Houseboats in the late afternoon for a relaxed meet and greet with the group. Unload your bags and settle into the spacious Houseboat that will be our home for the next few days. Enjoy the serene beauty of the bay as everyone gets comfortable.

Evening: We'll head over to the Thunderbird Lodge for a cozy dinner on the floating patio. This will be our first opportunity to connect, share excitement about the upcoming days, and chat more about what to expect from the trip. Afterward, we’ll return to the Houseboat and settle in for the night, anchored peacefully in the bay under the stars.

DAY 2 – Adventure Begins!

Morning: We’ll kick off the morning early with a quick breakfast in town, followed by a grocery run to stock up on supplies for the weekend. Be sure to grab everything we’ll need for the days ahead!

Late Morning: After returning to the Houseboat, we’ll bring the groceries onboard and have a brief meeting with the Houseboat owner to go over the boat's operation and the weekend itinerary. This will be the time to rent kayaks and paddleboards for the trip—these are perfect for exploring the islands around us.

Afternoon: By 11 AM, we’ll set sail from Rainy Lake Houseboat Bay, ready for the adventure ahead. Depending on the availability of campsites, we’ll aim to reach one of the sought-after campsites in Voyageurs National Park within a few hours. We will spend most of our morning taking our time finding the perfect place to park for the afternoon! These campsites are tucked away in some of the most beautiful, peaceful corners of the park.

Evening: Once we’ve settled into our campsite, the afternoon and evening are yours to explore! Fish from shore, hike around, or simply relax and take in the gorgeous surroundings. We’ll come together to cook a delicious dinner and enjoy the beautiful lakefront as the sun sets, ready to unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

DAY 3 & 4 – Full Days of Exploration & Adventure

Morning: Each day will begin with a hearty breakfast aboard the houseboat, followed by a group meeting to decide which activities we want to take on that day. Whether it's fishing, hiking, or kayaking, there’s something for everyone.

Afternoon:

Fishing Groups: For those eager to fish, we’ll split into smaller groups and head out on the two fishing boats. We’ll target prime fishing spots, like the reefs for walleyes or the hidden cribs for crappies. There’s plenty of fish to be caught, and the peaceful setting will make it a relaxing experience.

Outdoor Adventures: If fishing isn’t your thing or if you’re looking for something different, there are numerous hiking trails to explore within Voyageurs National Park. Hike to breathtaking cliffs that overlook untouched waters—these views are perfect for photo ops or simply soaking in the beauty of nature.

Kayak & Paddleboard Explorations: If you’ve rented a kayak or paddleboard, feel free to venture out into the crystal-clear waters and weave between the many islands that make Voyageurs National Park so special. The water is calm and the islands are perfect for exploring and relaxing.

Evening: After a day full of excitement, we’ll return to the Houseboat for a delicious dinner and share stories about the day’s adventures. Every campsite has a bonfire ring, where we’ll gather to relax under the stars. If we're lucky, we might even see the Northern Lights lighting up the night sky! For those wanting to end the evening with ultimate relaxation, the rooftop hot tub awaits to soothe your muscles after a day on the water.

DAY 5 – Final Morning & Farewell

Morning: On our last day, we’ll have one more leisurely breakfast and spend some final moments enjoying the tranquility of Rainy Lake. We’ll head back to Rainy Lake Houseboats to disembark and say our goodbyes after an unforgettable trip filled with memories, laughter, and new friendships.

FAQ’S AND POLICY

Yes, we know this part might seem a bit tedious, but it’s important! We kindly ask that everyone who registers for a trip visits the FAQs and Policy page on our website. If you sign up for a trip without reviewing this information, it’s your responsibility. There’s a wealth of valuable information there that could influence your decision. Please make sure to check out all the FAQs and Policies on our website before signing up for a trip with us. Thank you!

EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY

We want to ensure that every trip with Her Wilderness is enjoyable and memorable, but we acknowledge that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Mother Nature has a significant impact on our outdoor adventures, so we encourage you to approach each trip with a positive attitude and a "go with the flow" mindset. If this feels unreasonable to you, we kindly ask that you reconsider registering for our events. Weather can be unpredictable, affecting activities like hiking, hunting, and fishing, and our top priority is always your safety. For instance, if your trip is focused on duck hunting but our guide believes a goose hunt is more feasible, we will follow their expert recommendation. If this kind of flexibility is not something you're comfortable with, we encourage you to think twice about joining us. We expect all participants to maintain a positive attitude, regardless of the circumstances. Many of our trips have faced changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, yet the understanding and adaptability of the group have made all the difference that still allows for an incredible experience! We take pride in creating fun experiences, even in challenging situations. Please be aware that our trips may involve sharing accommodations with others, unpredictable weather that could impact planned activities, limited bathroom facilities for larger groups, and the possibility of not harvesting the specific animal you hoped for. These are real scenarios that can arise, and while we’ll do our best to minimize issues, they can happen. We strive to maintain a drama-free and stress-free environment. If any participant brings negativity or drama, they will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be allowed to return. Our goal is to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and valued, so we ask for your cooperation in keeping a cool, calm, and collected attitude throughout the trip. We truly appreciate each of our customers and are committed to providing the best possible experience for all participants. Thank you for understanding, and we look forward to creating unforgettable memories together!

TRIP REGISTRATION AND CONTACT INFORMATION

We’re thrilled to announce a new booking and payment system aimed at enhancing your experience! Starting October 1, 2024, all trip registrations will be processed through WeTravel. Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email via the WeTravel platform. Your trip coordinator will then reach out with detailed information about your adventure and schedule two virtual video meetings for all trip attendees. The coordinator will share their email and other contact information with you at their discretion, so please respect their boundaries and contact them only through the provided information. A quick reminder: personal social media profiles are not the best way to reach out to your coordinator. During the virtual meetings, hosted on Google Meet, you’ll discuss important details such as packing lists, travel plans, and more. To ensure smooth communication, please register with a valid email address that you check regularly.
