TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION

We are heading to Ottertail County for yet another amazing weekend of ice fishing! Join us as we head out onto the ice for 2 full days of guided ice fishing. Our guides will be spending weeks prior to our arrival, pre-fishing the Ottertail County area to ensure we stay on top of fast moving schools. Whether you’re new to ice fishing or a seasoned vet, this trip is perfect for any woman looking to learn what it takes to bring big trophy panfish to the surface. Panfish are not the only fish in these frozen lakes. It is also very likely you could catch a Walleye, Northern, Jumbo Perch, or Largemouth Bass!

Our guides will have multiple hub styled shelters set up over a large perimeter for us to warm up in, while taking breaks from hole hopping. Halfway through each day our guide will also be providing us with a hot lunch out on the lake!

No equipment? No problem! Our guides are also equipped with an arsenal of ice fishing poles and Vexilars for anyone who is new to the sport.  If you are new to ice fishing, our guides and your coordinator will work one on one with you to build up your confidence in becoming an independent ice angler! If you have your own poles and fish finder we would LOVE for you to use the equipment you are already comfortable with. Our guides and coordinator will also have live imaging sonar available for you to try out!

LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS

We will be staying in a professionally remodeled, open concept home with stunning sunset views! Entertaining will be a breeze with two full kitchens, equipped with a coffee maker, crock pot, and toaster. This trip also includes all of your meals provided by your coordinator! After a long chilly day out on the ice you can also relax next to the warm fireplace. If the fireplace isn’t warm enough, you can sit in the hot tub found on the patio!

Everyone will need to share a bed or bedroom so please be prepared for that. The master bedroom on the main level has a king bed, there is a second and third bedroom also on the main level that have 1 queen each. The fourth bedroom on the lower level has a queen, and the fifth bedroom on the lower level has two twins. The couch in the basement is also an additional sleeper sofa.

TARGET SPECIES, REGULATIONS AND PROCESSING OF TAXIDERMY OR MEAT HARVEST PLAN.

This trip will primarily be focusing on catching Ottertail County’s renowned Crappies and Bluegills. BUT there is always a chance you’ll catch a surprise Walley, Northern, Jumbo Perch or Bass! Our guides will decide on which lake to take us to depending on their scouting prior to our arrival. Once our guides have decided on a lake, they will share the slot and possession limit details with us. Any fish caught under or over the slot limit will be immediately released. Our guides will graciously be cleaning and packaging the fish we do keep, for us to bring home. Please bring a cooler to place your fish in, to keep cold while on your journey back home!

FAQ’S AND POLICY

Yes, this is the boring part. BUT it’s important. We ask each person who registers for a trip to go and visit the FAQs and Policy page of our website. If you register for a trip before reading this information that is on you! There is a lot of great info found there that may or may not sway your decision. Please check out all of our FAQs + Policy page on our website BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR A TRIP WITH US! Thank you!

EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY

There are times that our trips do not go exactly as planned. Mother nature plays a large role in how we are able to spend time outdoors. We ask that you come into every single Her Wilderness trip with a positive attitude and “go with the flow” mindset for the duration of your trip. If that seems unreasonable, we kindly ask that you do not register for our events. The weather is unpredictable and can impact hiking, hunting, fishing, and our number #1 priority, your safety! For example, if your trip is geared towards hunting ducks, but right now the guide can only confidently offer a successful goose hunt, we will go with the guide's recommendation. If a situation like this will upset you then please do not register for a trip with us. We expect every woman to have a positive attitude no matter the circumstances. We have had plenty of trips get canceled, rescheduled or have plans changed with no issues simply because the group was understanding and made the best of the situation they were given. We pride ourselves in how fun our trips can be even in the most unfortunate of circumstances. If you are often considered “high maintenance” or tend to get stressed out then we kindly want to let you know that our trips are not a good fit for you. You may have to share a bed with a stranger, the weather may not allow us to participate in an activity, there may not be any showers available, there may only be 1 bathroom for 10 women, you may not harvest the animal you wanted to get, there could be someone on the trip that you just don’t vibe with. All of these scenarios are real and they happen. We will do our best to filter and prevent what we can before it becomes an issue. All of our trips and events are a drama and stress free zone! If you are the source of any drama you will be asked to leave with no refund given and you will not be welcome back. We always want to ensure that our customers are comfortable and taken care of. We will always ask that you have a cool, calm and collected attitude. If you are unable to maintain a good attitude in a variety of circumstances we ask that you refrain from registering for a trip. We appreciate each and everyone of our customers and want to ensure the best experience for all of our attendees!
