There is a quiet strength to Ireland. It lives in the stone walls softened by moss, in the rhythm of waves meeting ancient cliffs, in the way music spills from pub doors long after dark, and in the feeling that time slows just enough for you to breathe again. Ireland Cliffs Castles and Coastlines is a nine day Her Wilderness journey designed for women who want to explore deeply, move their bodies through wild places, and to end each day nourished by connection, good food, and shared story.
We will begin in Dublin, easing into Ireland with walkable streets, historic parks, and lively pubs tucked just off the beaten path. We wander through Trinity College, stroll St Stephen’s Green, visit the iconic Guinness Brewhouse and step out to the coast for fresh sea air on the cliffs of Howth. Evenings are unhurried and filled with conversation, music, and the simple joy of being together in the city of Dublin.
From there, we journey south through Ireland’s heartland, stopping at iconic castles that rise from the landscape like timekeepers. The Rock of Cashel and Cahir Castle invite us into Ireland’s layered past before we settle into Killarney, our base for exploring the southwest area.
Day 4 we will find ourselves emerged deeply inside of Killarney National Park, we will take today at an easy slow pace. We walk forest trails, follow lakeshores, and visit Ross Castle where water meets stone. A full day on the Dingle Peninsula brings some of Ireland’s most breathtaking scenery, from winding coastal roads and dramatic cliffs to quiet beaches and ancient ruins. We linger in Dingle town for warm meals, local shops, and a we wont forget scoop of the famous Murphy’s Ice Cream before returning to Killarney for a quiet evening together and getting some rest.
As we move further west, the landscape opens even more. The Cliffs of Moher stretch endlessly along the Atlantic, offering space to hike, pause, and take it all in. We stop in Doolin for traditional music before arriving in Galway, a vibrant coastal city known for its creativity, warmth, and storytelling. A full day on the Aran Islands invites us into a simpler rhythm. We explore by bike or on foot, weaving between stone walls and sea cliffs, visiting ancient forts, and sharing lunch with sweeping ocean views. Back in Galway, evenings are filled with live music, laughter, and the kind of connection that only comes from days well lived together.
Our journey ends quietly and intentionally in the west. We travel through Connemara to Kylemore Abbey, then wind through the remote beauty of Doolough Valley before arriving at the Ice House in Mayo. Here, the trip softens. We soak, sauna, cold plunge, and rest. We share a final dinner and close our time together grounded, restored, and connected. What a perfect place to spend our final night reflecting on our time together here in Ireland!
This trip is for women who love the outdoors but do not need to conquer it too quickly. For those of us who value movement and rest in equal measure and for those who want to experience Ireland not just as a place, but as a feeling. You will leave with tired legs, a full heart, and the sense that something essential has been remembered.
