We’re heading back to sunny South Florida for one of our most-loved annual adventures a weekend that blends wild, one-of-a-kind hunting and fishing with the relaxed coastal charm of Palm Beach County. This is our 5th year hosting this trip, and it sells out every time for one reason: it’s unforgettable. Set in the vibrant Lake Worth Beach and West Palm Beach area, this trip gives you the best of both worlds adrenaline-filled days hunting invasive iguanas and reeling in Peacock Bass, paired with laid-back afternoons by the pool or exploring the Florida coast. Whether you’re brand new to the outdoors or a seasoned sportswoman, our expert guides walk you through every step. You’ll learn how to safely hunt, handle, and pack iguanas, and how to target Florida’s colorful, hard-fighting Peacock Bass. All gear is included; all you need is a freshwater fishing license and a willingness to try something bold.

Between the action, you’ll have free time to unwind, lay by the pool, explore West Palm Beach, hit the beach, or try one of the area’s standout local restaurants. The vibes are high, the weather is warm, and the memories are waiting.

Why it’s special:

  • Iguana hunting helps control a harmful invasive species. and yes, you can take the meat home if you’d like! (We’ll help you pack it properly.)

  • Peacock Bass fishing is catch and release, but unforgettable, these fish are colorful, aggressive, and incredibly fun to reel in.

  • There’s space to recharge. Beach time, pool time, and downtime are built in, so you can soak up the sun and take it all in.

If you’ve ever wanted to try something bold and out of the ordinary, this is it. Come solo or bring a friend either way, you’ll walk away with new stories, new skills, and new friends.

Our home for the weekend is Palm Oasis, a private tropical retreat just one mile from the beach and minutes from downtown West Palm Beach. The property is surrounded by 15 varieties of palm trees, creating a lush, peaceful atmosphere that feels worlds away from the busy coast.

Palm Oasis features:

  • A heated saltwater pool with a sun shelf for lounging during our down time!

  • Two pergolas for shade, morning coffee, or relaxing after the hunt. There are multiple indoor and outdoor seating areas perfect for group dinners, conversations, or downtime!

  • A private guest cottage and 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms so everyone has a comfortable space to sleep

  • Outdoor grill + outdoor TV for unwinding at night

  • A quiet, safe residential neighborhood close to beaches, restaurants, and parks

This trip includes plenty of downtime, and Palm Oasis is the perfect place to enjoy it lay by the pool, take a short walk to the water, or recharge in the shade with your group. It’s the kind of setting that elevates the entire weekend. One of the best parts of this trip is the balance. In between adventures, you’ll have time to:

  • Lounge by the private pool

  • Grab lunch or explore downtown Lake Worth Beach

  • Visit West Palm Beach for shopping, cafés, or waterfront views

  • Walk or rideshare to the nearby beach

  • Try local favorites like The Old Key Lime House or Benny’s on the Beach

This weekend is the perfect blend of action and ease a chance to recharge, try something new, and connect deeply with a group of like-minded women.

FAQ’S AND POLICY

Yes, we know this part might seem a bit tedious, but it’s important! We kindly ask that everyone who registers for a trip visits the FAQs and Policy page on our website. If you sign up for a trip without reviewing this information, it’s your responsibility. There’s a wealth of valuable information there that could influence your decision. Please make sure to check out all the FAQs and Policies on our website before signing up for a trip with us. Thank you!

TRIP EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY

At Her Wilderness, our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and empowering outdoor experience for every woman who joins us. That said, outdoor adventures come with a level of unpredictability, especially when weather, wildlife, and group dynamics are involved. We ask all participants to bring a flexible mindset and a positive attitude. Weather conditions, guide recommendations, and other factors may require last-minute changes to activities, schedules, or game pursued (for example, switching from a duck hunt to a goose hunt if conditions call for it). These decisions are made with your safety and the quality of the experience in mind. If adaptability and going with the flow are not things you're comfortable with, we respectfully suggest reconsidering your participation in our trips.

What You Can Expect:

  • Outdoor conditions may change plans—including hunts, hikes, or water access.

  • You may share lodging with others.

  • Some locations may have limited facilities.

  • There is no guarantee of harvesting a specific species.

  • We do everything we can to deliver a great experience—no matter the challenge.

What We Expect:

  • A respectful, go-with-the-flow attitude.

  • Willingness to adapt to changes in schedule or activity.

  • Zero tolerance for drama, negativity, or behavior that impacts the group.

We maintain a strict no-drama policy. Any participant who brings negativity, disrupts the group dynamic, or disrespects staff or others will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be invited back to future events. We are here to build community, confidence, and lasting memories in the outdoors. Thank you for being part of that mission and for helping us keep our trips positive, welcoming, and fun for all!
