TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION

Black bear hunting in Canada is truly an amazing experience! We will be hunting in Manitoba and Saskatchewan with a 2 generation outfitter where meals and lodging are all included. Your coordinator Kim has hunted with this outfitter in 2023 and loved it so much she has been itching to go back ever since. We will be hunting for black bears and in this area it is likely that you will see Boone and Crocket and Pope and Young sized bears! Black bears can come in different color phases, so you might see cinnamon, chocolate, or even blonde colored black bears. We will hunt every afternoon/evening starting Sunday afternoon and ending Friday evening. Yes, 6 days of hunting!! They will have tree stands set up over bait sites that are accessible by ATVs. Every afternoon, our guide will take us individually out to the spot they have chosen for us, drop us off and be back after dark to pick us up. Once you shoot a bear they help you track it, transport and skin it. If you shoot a bear before Friday, you can leave early if you wish or you can stay to cheer on the rest of the girls still trying to check a Canada Black Bear off their list! A typical day at camp will be- waking when you wish, 10am BIG breakfast, relaxing and hanging out until heading to the stand around 2pm with a bag lunch, sitting until 11-12pm,  heading back to camp for a 3 course, wild game, home cooked meal, and going to bed around 1am! We will be hunting hard with high hopes of bagging one of these massive bears! Your payments will be spread out nicely so that this will be the most affordable way for you to check off this bucket list hunt.

LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS

We will be staying in a 3700 sq ft Bed and Breakfast home with 5 private bedrooms and one 3 person recreation room with 3 double and queen size beds. Home cooked Meals are provided daily including breakfast, bag lunch and a delicious 3 course supper. They offer a full private bathroom, laundry, TV and Internet services.

TARGET SPECIES, REGULATIONS AND PROCESSING OF TAXIDERMY OR MEAT HARVEST PLAN.

We will be hunting for black bears and in this area it is likely that you will see Boone and Crocket and Pope and Young sized bears! Black bears can come in different color phases, so you might see cinnamon, chocolate, or even blonde colored black bears. They will have our tags and licenses ready to go for us at camp when we arrive. One bear can be harvested per person and once blood is drawn your hunt is over. That means if you shoot a bear and wound it or can’t recover it, your hunt is complete and you can’t try to harvest another bear. You can choose to use a rifle or a bow for your hunt. You are welcome to take the bear meat and hide home with you but you will need large coolers to transport it. For this reason- driving to our hunt is your best option. Crossing the Canada border only requires a passport. If you are rifle hunting you will have to declare that you have a firearm and they will have you pull over so they can inspect it. If you have a bow and arrow, they will just ask a few questions and let you continue on.

FAQ’S AND POLICY

Yes, this is the boring part. BUT it’s important. We ask each person who registers for a trip to go and visit the FAQs and Policy page of our website. If you register for a trip before reading this information that is on you! There is a lot of great info found there that may or may not sway your decision. Please check out all of our FAQs and Policy information here BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR A TRIP WITH US! Thank you!

Things not included in this trip:

-Any tips to your guides/outfitters - please wait to hear from your coordinator on a suggested tipping amount and plan to always bring cash for tipping. Tipping doesn’t apply to all trips.

-Transportation. Your airline or rental car is not included. Please do not expect to arrive at the airport and have a ride unless specifically planned out with someone.. We suggest that you wait to book any travel plans until you’ve talked with other girls going on the trip. Chances are other people are also flying/driving in and you will be able to coordinate plans with them. It is always cheaper to split a rental car 4 ways!

EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY

There are times that our trips do not go exactly as planned or advertised. Mother nature plays a large role in how we are able to spend time outdoors. We ask that you come into every single Her Wilderness trip with a positive attitude and “go with the flow” mindset for the duration of your trip. If that seems unreasonable, we kindly ask that you do not register for our events. The weather is unpredictable and can impact hiking, hunting, fishing, and our number #1 priority, your safety! For example, if your trip is geared towards hunting ducks, but right now the guide can only confidently offer a successful goose hunt, we will go with the guide's recommendation. If a situation like this will upset you then please do not register for a trip with us. We expect every woman to have a positive attitude no matter the circumstances.
