TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION

We are heading South and to host our very first trip in Arizona! We will be visiting the land of giant cacti. Yes, like the ones you see in cartoons! If you’ve ever wanted to see these beautiful giants then this is the trip for you. We will be spending a long weekend with 7 other women in Tucson Arizona in a desert oasis themed Airbnb. The “Tranquil Retreat” offers spacious accommodations and gorgeous backyard views of Tucson. You can spend your evenings sitting on the full length covered patio & watch the light dance across the mountains, the moon rise, & the city lights twinkle. The proximity to Tucson's top attractions make it the perfect place to stay for your vacation. As much as we will love our lodging accommodations, Tucson has so much more to offer and our trip is just getting started! Here is an idea of what you can expect for your wilderness weekend in Arizona: 

• Thursday Day 1 - Arrive at our hilltop Airbnb. We will wait for everyone to arrive and then set out on a mission to dive into the local cuisine for the evening. We will find a local hot spot that offers chimichangas and prickly pear margaritas! After an evening of getting to know each other we will head back to the airbnb with full bellies to hang out in the hot tub, play games or take it easy and get some rest after a long travel day. 

• Friday Day 2 - We will start our morning off around 9am and head to ARIZONA-SONORA DESERT MUSEUM to learn all about the local desert environment and ecology. This museum will offer so much knowledge and experience before we spend our weekend immersed in the Southern Arizona Landscape. After our visit to the museum we will grab a quick lunch and then head out to finish our day with some adrenaline and adventure! We will be hitting the trails at noon for a a full afternoon of guided off-roading. We will be exploring the desert and cacti in style as we ride UTVs through the scenic desert landscape. We will travel up the switchbacks of Redington Pass with stunning views over Tucson and the surrounding Saguaro Fields before heading back to the main pass right at sunset, this sunset cruise is going to offer some of the best views! After our time off roading we will have an evening of rest and relaxation at our Airbnb in the hot tub, pool and patio. 

• Saturday Day 3 - Rise and Shine it’s hiking time! We have obtained a “special use group permit” through Saguaro National Park for this trip and we will need to stay on schedule as much as possible. We will start our morning off bright and early (6am) and enter into the park by sunrise. This is the best way to beat the crowds/traffic that comes with visiting a National Park. We will be visiting the East Rincon Mountain District of Saguaro National Park. The East District has a wonderful variety of over 128 miles of hiking trails for us to explore. We will spend our time driving the Cactus Forest Road Loop Drive. The 8-mile one way loop is fully paved and hosts numerous hiking trails, picnic areas, and scenic overlooks along the journey. We will stop off at numerous spots to explore - we will leave those details up to the group! We will plan to do a handful of smaller hikes, these trials will be 2 miles or less.  We will spend our evening at “Cowboy Cookout” from 5:30-8:30 pm hosted by the Tanque Verde Ranch for a down-home ranch BBQ experience. Fill your plate with the chef’s choices of grilled meats ranging from ribs or steaks, homemade cornbread, fresh fruit, and much more as you listen to live music. And just because you’re at a BBQ, doesn’t mean your sweet tooth won’t be satisfied…a large dessert table hosts a variety of freshly baked sweets to suit any craving

• Sunday Day 4 - As we reflect over our weekend of learning, adventure and nature it is finally time to depart. Please plan to head out of the Airbnb no later than 10am and travel home! 

LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS

We will be spending a long weekend in Tucson Arizona in a desert oasis themed Airbnb. The “Tranquil Retreat” offers spacious accommodations and gorgeous backyard views of Tucson because the home sits on top of a hill overlooking the desert and the city. You can spend your evenings sitting on the full length covered patio & watch the light dance across the mountains, the moon rise, & the city lights twinkle. The proximity to Tucson's top attractions make it the perfect place to stay for your vacation. This 4 bedroom 3 bathroom home can accommodate 8 people comfortably. You will have to share a bed and a bathroom with others on this trip, please be prepared for that.

We are able to offer this weekend at only $750 per person, which will include a nonrefundable deposit of $250 and 2 additional payments of $250.

The cost of this trip includes 3 nights of lodging, your desert museum entrance, off roading rental, and entrance into the National Park. TIP TO YOUR GUIDES IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THIS TRIP.

It’s always a good idea to book your flight after joining the facebook group! That way you are able to communicate with others attending the trip to book your flights in sync and split rental car or uber costs!

• 200 miles: Show Low, AZ (SOW / KSOW) Show Low Regional Airport

Yes, this is the boring part. BUT it’s important. We ask each person who registers for a trip to go and visit the FAQs and Policy page of our website. Things not included in this trip: 

-Any tips to your guides/outfitters - please wait to hear from your coordinator on a suggested tipping amount and plan to always bring cash for tipping. Tipping doesn’t apply to all trips. 

-Transportation. Your airline or rental car is not included. Please do not expect to arrive at the airport and have a ride unless specifically planned out with someone.. We suggest that you wait to book any travel plans until you’ve talked with other girls going on the trip. Chances are other people are also flying/driving in and you will be able to coordinate plans with them. It is always cheaper to split a rental car 4 ways! 

-Meals are not included in the cost of this trip. We will plan to enjoy the local cuisines or cook at our lodging accommodations!

This group is where you can connect with other trip attendees, ask your trip coordinator questions, and receive additional trip details. You can discuss packing lists, travel plans, and more. If payments are late we will always work with you. however if there is no communication we will assume you are forfeiting your spot and any payments made will not be refunded.
