REGISTRATION OPENS: FRIDAY 04/05/2024 AT 10AM CST

You aren't ready for this! Join us for our third annual Battle of the Bows shoot out. Last year 40+ women went head to head in a competition styled shoot out. This year we are bringing together MORE women from all over the nation for a one night shoot out in FIVE different states. You must register for one of our 5 events to participate in the competitive shoot. The shoot will be held on Saturday June 8th and you will go out the night before for some scouting and practice shooting! All 5 of the Battle of the Bows events will include 2 evenings with a professional boat captain and lodging for the whole weekend (FRIDAY - SUNDAY) This is a great way to get introduced to Bowfishing while taking a weekend away to hang out with like minded women! You do not need any experience to participate in this friendly shoot out, however we will be hosting different giveaways and contests through out the weekend for those who are connecting with fish no matter the shape, size or species!

TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION

Don’t worry about any equipment for this trip, the guide will have everything you need! Just bring your competitive, go-getting attitudes and smiles. We will be going back and forth with the other competing states throughout the night. Once again, I don’t think the East is ready for us.

Plan to arrive in Arizona on Friday, June 7, we can arrive at the Airbnb anytime after 3:00 PM. The closest airport is Phoenix, with about an 1 hour and a half drive to Roosevelt, Arizona. Once the trip is closer, we can plan flights and carpooling options. We will be shooting fish Friday night, so please plan to arrive earlier than 6:00 PM. This will allow us time to settle in the Airbnb and to do introductions. We will be fishing all night, and will be able to sleep in on Saturday, June 8. We will plan to do breakfast together in the morning, relax and water activities throughout the day. We will head out Saturday night around 8:00 PM for our competition shoot. Again, we will be shooting all night and will be able to sleep in and do breakfast Sunday morning before departure. Plan to depart Airbnb before 10:00 AM on Sunday morning.

LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS

We will be staying at an Airbnb labeled as “Lake House Retreat.” We will be housed on a hillside overlooking the mountains, catching the sunrises and sunsets on the patio. This house is located within 1 mile of one of the boat ramps at Roosevelt. Depending on where the fish are after the guide does some scouting we may move lakes, we will know closer to the day of our trip. There are 4 beds in this house (2 queens, 1 king and 1 sofa bed), there will be 6 girls total on this trip, please prepare to share a bed! There are 2 bathrooms in the home. The house is very spacious, giving us plenty of space to socialize and relax. Being a short drive to the lake, there are plenty of options for outdoor activities throughout the day on Saturday. Kayaks and paddle boards can be rented for a day out on the lake. Please do not forget your sunscreen, sunglasses and lots of water to hydrate.

TARGET SPECIES, REGULATIONS AND PROCESSING OF TAXIDERMY OR MEAT HARVEST PLAN.

You will only need a valid Arizona fishing license for this trip. There are options for short-term fishing licenses, which can be purchased online through Arizona Game & Fish. We will be fishing for 2 days, Friday and Saturday night. When it gets warmer in Arizona, the spawn will end, and we will be going after bigger numbers of fish, be prepared to shoot a lot of fish! We will be targeting Common Carp, 3 species of Buffalo, Gizzard Shad, Tilapia and Catfish.  There is no limit on Buffalo and Carp. If we start getting into some Catfish, the limit is 5 per person, depending on the lake. If you plan to take fish home to eat, please plan ahead by packing a cooler, ice and ziplock bags. Fish cleaning can be arranged with the guide, if needed.

-Any tips to your guides/outfitters - please wait to hear from your coordinator on a suggested tipping amount and plan to always bring cash for tipping. Tipping doesn’t apply to all trips.

-Transportation. Your airline or rental car is not included. Please do not expect to arrive at the airport and have a ride unless specifically planned out with someone.. We suggest that you wait to book any travel plans until you’ve talked with other girls going on the trip. Chances are other people are also flying/driving in and you will be able to coordinate plans with them. It is always cheaper to split a rental car 4 ways!

EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY

There are times that our trips do not go exactly as planned or advertised. Mother nature plays a large role in how we are able to spend time outdoors. We ask that you come into every single Her Wilderness trip with a positive attitude and “go with the flow” mindset for the duration of your trip. If that seems unreasonable, we kindly ask that you do not register for our events. The weather is unpredictable and can impact hiking, hunting, fishing, and our number #1 priority, your safety! For example, if your trip is geared towards hunting ducks, but right now the guide can only confidently offer a successful goose hunt, we will go with the guide's recommendation. If a situation like this will upset you then please do not register for a trip with us. We expect every woman to have a positive attitude no matter the circumstances. We have had plenty of trips get canceled, rescheduled or have plans changed with no issues simply because the group was understanding and made the best of the situation they were given. We pride ourselves in how fun our trips can be even in the most unfortunate of circumstances. If you are often considered “high maintenance” or tend to get stressed out then we kindly want to let you know that our trips are not a good fit for you. You may have to share a bed with a stranger, the weather may not allow us to participate in an activity, there may not be any showers available, there may only be 1 bathroom for 10 women, you may not harvest the animal you wanted to get, there could be someone on the trip that you just don’t vibe with. All of these scenarios are real and they happen. We will do our best to filter and prevent what we can before it becomes an issue. All of our trips and events are a drama and stress free zone! If you are the source of any drama you will be asked to leave with no refund given. We always want to ensure that our customers are comfortable and taken care of. We will always ask that you have a cool, calm and collected attitude. If you are unable to maintain a good attitude in a variety of circumstances we kindly ask that you refrain from registering for a trip. We appreciate each and everyone of our customers and want to ensure the best experience for all of our attendees!
