TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION

I hope y’all are as excited as we are to head back to the cheesehead state of Wisconsin! We are chasing the highly sought after Trophy Walleye in Green Bay. This is our third year of hitting the Fox River during the Walleye run. Walleye can be found year round in the Fox River, however they are most visible during their annual spawning run that typically occurs in late March and April. During this period, thousands can be viewed swimming in shallow water near the rapids below the De Pere Dam and around the viewing Pier. A trophy walleye can be classified as a fish measuring 25-33 inches long and a staggering 12-14 lbs pre spawn. Depending on the day and weather conditions you could find yourself fishing the legendary Fox river for these giants. Exact location depends on bite, time of the year and weather conditions and may change at the last minute.

We will fish Thursday evening, stay the evening at an Airbnb and then turn around and get back out on Friday morning to chase after these trophies. To catch these river monsters, we will spend a majority of our time jigging for them but as the sun sets on Thursday evening, we will switch over to trolling. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY and all rods, reels, and tackle will be provided along with the expertise on how to use everything will be provided by our gracious guide. You will also be responsible for your food, travel, and tip to the guide.

LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS

TARGET SPECIES, REGULATIONS AND PROCESSING OF TAXIDERMY OR MEAT HARVEST PLAN.

ALL/ANY walleye caught over the size of 24 inches will be released. This ensures the future success of the fisheries. Any walleyes caught of mountable size will be photographed, measured, and accurately documented. This will allow you to have a replica done by a Taxidermist of choice or done by our recommended taxidermist - Mayes Taxidermy! The daily bag limit for Walleye is 5 per person per day. If we plan to keep any, our guide can show us how to clean our catch and I will provide a vacuum sealer back at our airbnb to keep it fresh and then throw it in the freezer.  If you are flying, we will need to freeze the meat and carry it on or store it in checked luggage. Or, you can ship it home. I recommend bringing extra trash bags to store meat in and fly it in your carry on. You will be required to have a WI fishing license which can be purchased online at https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/Fishing/outreach/FishingLicenses or you can purchase them at any gas station in Wisconsin. Resident fishing license is $20 for the year, nonresident is $50 for the year or $24 for a 4 day license.
