TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION
We are heading to Lamar, OK for an amazing weekend of hog hunting! This will be a trip one to remember as we are heading to the woods to stalk wild hogs! An Oklahoma Captive Feral Swine License is required. This trip will accommodate 6 women, giving everyone ample time to harvest a wild boar. If you are worried or hesitant because you’ve never tried this before, set your worries aside! Our professional guides will set you up for success!
Plan to arrive Friday by the afternoon to get our guns or bows sighted for two full days of hunting. Saturday morning we will begin our hunt, by stalking, sitting in a tree stand or in a ground blind. In our down time, there is a 5 acres pond loaded with bass ready to be fished or trails on the property that can be hiked.
The trip includes 2 hunts (or until you harvest your hog), 2 nights of lodging, all meals and 1 management hog. These hogs will weigh around 110 to 130 lb. Any hogs over 135 lbs are considered trophy hogs and are not included. Trophy hogs will require an additional fee. The decision to shoot a trophy hog can be added on during our stay. Field dressing, skinning, and quartering will also be available at additional cost. If you’d like to learn how to skin and quarter your hog, the guides are happy to teach you the step by step process.
LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS
We will be staying onsite on the Rocky Top Ranch Bunkhouse. The bunkhouse has a large shared space for sleeping, and a large bathroom to share. Everyone will have their own bed. Adjacent to the bunkhouse is the hunting lodge, where we can relax, watch tv, and celebrate after harvesting our hogs. All meals and lodging will be provided during our stay. A tip to your guide is not included in the price of this trip. Your coordinator will be sharing more details on tipping after you register.
TARGET SPECIES, REGULATIONS AND PROCESSING OF TAXIDERMY OR MEAT HARVEST PLAN.
We are hunting feral hogs! We begin hunting early in the morning on Saturday and Sunday, with the opportunity to hunt all day. Rocky Top Ranch has heated cleaning facilities and a walk-in cooler to store the meat until it is time to leave. Be sure to bring a cooler or two, as you will be bringing home the bacon after this weekend! If you are flying, we will need to freeze the meat and carry it on or store it in checked luggage. Or, you can ship it home. I recommend bringing extra trash bags to store meat in and fly it in your carry on.
