Plan to arrive in the evening after 4PM Friday, December 30th 2022, and departing Sunday, January 1st in the late afternoon. We will be lodging in Fergus Falls, Minnesota and commuting to a lake in the Ottertail County area. Upon registration for this trip, you will be emailed a link to a private Facebook group where you can connect with other trip attendees, ask questions of the trip coordinator, and receive additional trip details.

The Her Wilderness annual New Years ice fishing trip is BACK and better than ever! Join us by ringing in the new year the only way we know how, on the ice! This trip includes 2 full days of guided ice fishing by In Depth Outdoors’s very own Konnor Kleist. He will be spending weeks prior to our arrival, pre-fishing the Ottertail County area to ensure we stay on top of the biggest panfish Minnesota has to offer. We will be provided with transportation onto the lake, via side by side. Hub houses and heating will be provided, but we will be spending a majority of our time chasing down schools of fish with live imaging sonar. Our generous guide will also be providing us with a hot lunch each day we are out on the ice. If you are new to ice fishing, rods, electronic equipment, and cleaned fish can be provided for you upon request.

Lodging is included in the price of this trip. We will be staying at an AirBnb in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Our lodge is a lakefront home located on Lake Jewett, equipped with an indoor and outdoor fireplace, full kitchen, washer & dryer, 5 bedroom, 5.5 baths, and a HOT TUB! For anyone with a competitive side, your skills will be put to the test on our lodge's foosball table and Big Buck Hunter arcade game. Please keep in mind you will have to share a room and or bed with another attendee.

TRIP ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS

Once you have registered, we will come together as a group to decide on a potluck style dinner for Friday & Saturday night. We will be leaving our lodging fairly early each morning to meet with our guide, so please bring your own quick and simple breakfasts. Our guide will be providing us with a hot grilled lunch while on the ice, please bring your own beverages and any additional snacks you prefer. We will be checking out of our AirBnB the morning of Sunday, January 1st before meeting with our guide for our last full day of fishing. On Sunday we will be departing in the late afternoon from the lake. The price of this trip DOES NOT include tip, so please be mindful of that. Please bring cash or register through Venmo as it is courteous to do so.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS + REGULATIONS:

You will need a Minnesota fishing license. An individual Minnesota resident angling license is $25.00. Here are the options for nonresidents to choose from. A Non Resident 24hr license is $14.00, Non Resident 7 day is $43.00, and a Non Resident Individual Annual license is $51.00.

AIRPORTS + TRAVEL INFORMATION

The nearest airport from our lodging is the Hector International Airport in Fargo, North Dakota. If you choose this airport, it would be a 1 hour drive to our lodging in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. We recommend waiting to book your flights to be in sync with the other women attending to make traveling from the airport to the hotel easier. Toni, this trip’s coordinator and will ensure there is communication on our Facebook Group about coordinating arrival.

MEET THE COORDINATOR

Toni is from the small town of Nowthen, MN. She was introduced to the outdoors at a very young age, thanks to both of her parents. Today, her hobbies include fishing and tying her own feather and hair jigs. When she’s not fishing, you can find her cooking or tending to her smoker. Toni spends every moment of the winter out on the ice and is so excited to share with you all the amazing fishery that Ottertail County is!
