Our friends over at Pit Properties are taking us for a little goose hunting in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Trust us when we say: this guide service is a group passionate waterfowl hunters. Their preferred way to pursue goose is from the meticulous concealment of a pit blind. Plus, pit blinds are so comfortable to hunt from, they make hunts all that much more enjoyable. Pit Properties tells us, “Over the years, with the help of some very generous farmers and landowners, we have been able to create a hunting experience that combines an optimal chance for hunting success with warmth and comfort to accommodate hunters of all ages.” So… are you ready to hunt some geese?!
From the thrill of watching birds decoy to making memories with new friends, we truly believe you won’t want to miss out on this waterfowl hunt. The day before our hunt, Pit Properties will let us know where we’ll hunt the following day based on flight patterns. We’ll find out who our guide will be, as well as the meeting time and location for the hunt. Most of the hunts will take place in the blinds and meals are provided there. November hunts typically last from sunrise to sunset—good thing those pits are so comfortable! On occasion, we’ll need to leave our blinds to get on birds and hunt in mobile blinds. In this case meals will not be provided, but we will discuss this before the hunt.
We’re able to offer this hunt for $830 per person, which includes breakfast in the blind, professional guides, a HUGE decoy spread, and lodging at The Gathering Lodge. This lodge is beautiful, spacious, private, and has a stunning view overlooking Swan Lake. Our group will certainly love to relax and sit in the hot tub during our downtime. Not included in the price is the required licenses, snacks, ammunition, or firearms. You will need a 12-gauge shotgun and 3” or 3.5” BB or #2 shotgun shells.
This trip is $830 and will be broken up between a non-refundable deposit of $125 and three payments after that of $235.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: PLEASE MAKE ALL PAYMENTS BY THEIR DUE DATES. IF PAYMENTS ARE LATE WE WILL ALWAYS WORK WITH YOU. HOWEVER, IF THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION WE WILL ASSUME YOU ARE FORFEITING YOUR SPOT AND ANY PAYMENTS MADE WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. WE WILL THEN REACH OUT TO OUR WAITLIST AND GET YOUR SPOT FILLED BY ANOTHER PARTY. BY REGISTERING FOR ANY HER WILDERNESS TRIP YOU ARE UNDER THE FULL UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. (We are able to offer a partial refund only if we fill your spot with a member on the waiting list. At that time we may be able to refund any additional payments made outside of your deposit. Your deposit is NOT refundable. If your spot does not get filled, we will not be able to offer a refund on payments.)
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: You will need a Minnesota small game license, a federal duck state, a Minnesota state duck stamp and HIP cert. for this hunt. These licenses are available for purchase online, here.
AIRPORT: The nearest airports to Fergus Falls, Minnesota would be Minneapolis, Minnesota or Fargo, North Dakota. We recommend waiting to book your flights to be in sync with the other women attending, you are likely to find someone to carpool with or split a rental vehicle. Tentatively plan to arrive sometime in the evening Thursday and depart after the morning hunt on Sunday.
