TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION
Waterfowl hunters won’t want to miss the opportunity to head to Maryland with Her Wilderness to hunt the Deal Island WMA. Expanses of tidal marsh, frequently broken by open water, characterize most of the habitat of this WMA. The 13,000-acre property also contains forested wetlands and a 2,800-acre man-made pond or "impoundment." The water insects and crustaceans, as well as the abundance of wigeongrass, horned pondweed and other favorite waterfowl foods makes Deal Island one of the best places in Maryland to watch, photograph, and hunt ducks and geese.
Waterfowl are the primary attraction for hunters in Deal Island. No other place in Maryland can boast the chance to see and hunt such large numbers of uncommon ducks like wigeons, pintails, gadwalls, green and blue-winged teal and shovelers in addition to the expected black ducks, mallards, scaup and Canada geese. During this three-day, two-night trip, attendees will enjoy two full days on the water of the Chesapeake Bay hunting waterfowl with our guides.
Attendees can expect to arrive at the Airbnb Thursday afternoon or evening. At our Deal Island cottage, we will spend the evening getting to know each other before getting a good night’s sleep before our first day of hunting. Friday and Saturday morning, we will hit the water early (around 6:30 a.m.) with our guns and guides to chase sea ducks. There will be some downtime Friday evening after the hunt, and everyone is free to depart after our hunt on Saturday (around 2 p.m.).
