TOTAL COST: $900 | DEPOSIT: $300 (THIS IS NON REFUNDABLE)

REGISTRATION OPENS: FRIDAY 05/24/2024 AT 10AM CST

TRIP DETAILS + INFORMATION

We are traveling to the upper corner of Oregon, specifically to Warrenton, very close to the Washington border, separated by the Columbia River. This will be a combo trip you don’t want to miss out on. Not only will our poles be bending on this trip but crabs will be crawling! Before we drop our lines for bottom fish, we will be assisting our guide by setting multiple crab pots. While the pots are dropped and Dungeness crabs are crawling, we will head to a different location on the water to target Rockfish, Sea Bass and Lingcod. We will be heading back to our crab traps after a while to check our pots. Each gal will have the chance to pull in a crab pot. This trip will accommodate 6 women, including a lady deckhand (YAY!). Everyone will get the chance to reel in multiple bottom fish and pull crab pots. The limit per day is 12 Dungeness crabs per person, and 5 bottom fish per person. Dungeness crab, rock fish and lingcod are GOOD eating! Don’t forget to pack your coolers, there will be two days of this! If you’ve never been crabbing or bottom fishing, this is the trip for you.

LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS + MISC. DETAILS

We will be lodging in an Airbnb located in Warrenton, Oregon, overlooking Neacoxie Lake. This house is a 10 minute walk from the beach where we can enjoy sunsets and search for sand dollars. We may also catch sights of deer and elk on the hillside. Inside this house there are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There are 5 beds (King, Queen, Double, Single & floor mattress), one individual will need to share a bed, so please be prepared. There is a full kitchen to store snacks and a living room to socialize and get to know each other. Please be mindful of your time in the bathroom, as there are only 2 bathrooms and 6 women. Depending on the weather, there is additional space outside, which includes hammocks, fire pit and other activities such as kayaks (2) that we can take down to the lake. This is a small, quiet community which will help us wind down and relax after a long day out on the water.

We will be fishing/crabbing out of Warrenton, meaning the travel time each morning should be limited. With so many vehicles, we will be able to condense down for travel to and from the boat launch, where we will be greeting our guides. We will be close to a bigger town in Oregon, Astoria where we can go into town for food, snacks and dinner.

TARGET SPECIES, REGULATIONS AND PROCESSING OF TAXIDERMY OR MEAT HARVEST PLAN

We will be catching bottom fish, which include Lingcod, Rockfish and Sea Bass, but not only will we be catching fish, we will be trapping Dungeness Crab. Both Saturday and Sunday, we will head out of the boat launch early, fishing and trapping until late afternoon/evening. Please plan to transport your fish and crab home with you. Our guides will do all of the processing and cleaning at the dock. You will have the option to have your crab steamed at the dock as well. If you will be flying with the fish/crabs, I highly recommend bringing a cooler, or purchasing a cooler on the trip and checking it onto the airplane. If you prefer not to carry on the airplane, shipping home can always be an option as well.

You will need an Oregon Angling & Shellfish license for this trip. There is an option for 2, single day licenses or a 3-day fishing license. Gear will be provided by the guide.

MEET YOUR COORDINATOR

AMANDA WILL BE YOUR TRIP COORDINATOR! AMANDA GREW UP DEER HUNTING AND TROUT FISHING IN WESTERN WASHINGTON WITH HER FATHER BY HER SIDE, TEACHING HER ALL OF THE ROPES. FOLLOWING HER FATHER’S FOOTSTEPS, SHE VENTURED INTO WATERFOWL HUNTING IN 2017, QUICKLY FINDING A PASSION FOR CUPPED WINGS AND QUALITY TIME IN THE BLIND. FAST FORWARD 3 YEARS, AMANDA STEPPED OUT OF HER COMFORT ZONE AND TRAVELED TO OREGON FOR HER FIRST ALL-LADIES WATERFOWL HUNT. AS NERVOUS AS SHE WAS, SHE CREATED LIFETIME FRIENDSHIPS AND MEMORIES. AMANDA HAS NOT ONCE REGRETTED STEPPING OUT OF HER COMFORT ZONE AND ORGANIZED HER FIRST  ALL-WOMEN'S GOOSE HUNT AND SALMON TRIP IN 2022, IN BOTH WASHINGTON AND OREGON. AMANDA DISCOVERED THAT THERE IS A LACK IF WOMEN IN THE OUTDOOR INDUSTRY AND WANTS TO BRING CONFIDENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND FRIENDSHIPS TO THE WOMEN OF THE OUTDOORS. BEING A PART OF HER WILDERNESS, AMANDA IS ALL ABOUT SHARING THE SAME PASSION FOR THE OUTDOORS WITH OTHER WOMEN. AMANDA WOULD LIKE TO HELP OTHER WOMEN STEP OUT OF THEIR COMFORT ZONE, TRAVEL AND EXPLORE NEW ADVENTURES IN THE PRESENCE OF MULTIPLE LADIES. AMANDA’S FIRST HER WILDERNESS TRIP WAS A SNOW GOOSE HUNT IN STUTTGART, ARKANSAS. ON THIS HUNT, SHE MET SO MANY FRIENDLY AND SUPPORTIVE WOMEN, WHO ENCOURAGED AMANDA TO JOIN HER WILDERNESS AS A COORDINATOR FOR WASHINGTON. YOU CAN FIND AMANDA IN THE DUCK BLIND, SEARCHING FOR TURKEYS & DEER OR EVEN CASTING A POLE IN THE WATER. AMANDA CAN’T WAIT TO SHARE NEW EXPERIENCES WITH YOU!

EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY

There are times that our trips do not go exactly as planned or advertised. Mother nature plays a large role in how we are able to spend time outdoors. We ask that you come into every single Her Wilderness trip with a positive attitude and “go with the flow” mindset for the duration of your trip. If that seems unreasonable, we kindly ask that you do not register for our events. The weather is unpredictable and can impact hiking, hunting, fishing, and our number #1 priority, your safety! For example, if your trip is geared towards hunting ducks, but right now the guide can only confidently offer a successful goose hunt, we will go with the guide's recommendation. If a situation like this will upset you then please do not register for a trip with us. We expect every woman to have a positive attitude no matter the circumstances.
