IDAHO/OREGON STATELINE SPECKS + SNOWS
THURSDAY FEB 19TH - SUNDAY FEB 22ND, 2026
TOTAL COST: $1,200 | DEPOSIT: $400 (THIS IS NON-REFUNDABLE)
REGISTRATION OPENS: FRIDAY 09/05/2025
This is not your average waterfowl weekend. Join Her Wilderness for a two-day guided hunt chasing snows and specks across Idaho and Oregon during the peak of the reverse migration. We’ll be based in the scenic Snake River Valley, where snowy mountain backdrops and big skies are just part of the experience.
We’ll start in Idaho, posted up in well-scouted fields and blinds designed to lure migrating snow geese into range. These birds, known for their numbers and energy, bring chaotic, high-volume action to the skies, and your shotgun. Then we’ll jump the state line to Oregon, where we’ll dial things in and chase after the elusive specklebelly geese (aka “tar-bellies”). With smaller spreads and expert guides focused on precision calling, this portion of the hunt is all about strategy and finesse. Our hope is to bag a couple mature adults that we can go home and hang on the wall. If hunting a speckbelly is on your bucket list, this is the place to do it!
Both states offer generous limits, and this trip was intentionally timed to hit that late February window when the birds are actively pushing north. We’ll be hunting with a reputable outfitter known for their results and understanding of waterfowl movement across this region.
What makes this experience even more special?
Two states. Two species. Double your opportunity.
Scenic & soulful: We’re based in one of the most naturally stunning areas in the Northwest.
Confidence-building: Whether you’re new to goose hunting or already hooked, you’ll walk away with new skills and stories to tell.
For this two-state hunt, the closest airport is Boise Airport (BOI) in Idaho, which is just a short drive from our basecamp in the Snake River Valley and provides easy access to both Idaho and Oregon hunting zones. Since we’ll be hunting across both states, you’ll need a 3-day nonresident game bird license for Oregon (approx. $77, including validation), and a 3 days nonresident hunting license (approx. $77, including validation for Idaho (including HIP validation). We’ll provide step-by-step guidance on how to purchase each license ahead of time, so you’re fully prepared and legal when you step into the field.
Whether you're chasing your first specklebelly or just want to experience waterfowl hunting in a totally new landscape, this trip is your ticket to something different, high action meets high country. During our downtime we can explore the Snake River Valley area. Maybe our evening will bring us to a natural hot spring or a local food joint with live music. Whenever we end up this area has natural beauty and plenty of things to do while we aren’t in the field. Ready to say yes to something wildly different? Only 6 spots available. This trip will sell out. Let’s go chase birds and make memories.

TRIP EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY
At Her Wilderness, our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and empowering outdoor experience for every woman who joins us. That said, outdoor adventures come with a level of unpredictability, especially when weather, wildlife, and group dynamics are involved. We ask all participants to bring a flexible mindset and a positive attitude. Weather conditions, guide recommendations, and other factors may require last-minute changes to activities, schedules, or game pursued (for example, switching from a duck hunt to a goose hunt if conditions call for it). These decisions are made with your safety and the quality of the experience in mind. If adaptability and going with the flow are not things you're comfortable with, we respectfully suggest reconsidering your participation in our trips.
What You Can Expect:
Outdoor conditions may change plans—including hunts, hikes, or water access.
You may share lodging with others.
Some locations may have limited facilities.
There is no guarantee of harvesting a specific species.
We do everything we can to deliver a great experience—no matter the challenge.
What We Expect:
A respectful, go-with-the-flow attitude.
Willingness to adapt to changes in schedule or activity.
Zero tolerance for drama, negativity, or behavior that impacts the group.
We maintain a strict no-drama policy. Any participant who brings negativity, disrupts the group dynamic, or disrespects staff or others will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be invited back to future events. We are here to build community, confidence, and lasting memories in the outdoors. Thank you for being part of that mission and for helping us keep our trips positive, welcoming, and fun for all!
