Trip details
Day 1 – June 10
Arrival & Settle In Near Yosemite
Fly into Fresno Yosemite International Airport, and we’ll head into the Sierra together to settle into our cozy lodging just outside of Yosemite National Park. Take the evening to unwind, connect with your fellow travelers, and get ready for the wild beauty ahead.
Day 2 – June 11
Full Day in Yosemite National Park
We’ll spend the day exploring the world-famous Yosemite Valley and its jaw-dropping sights: El Capitan, Half Dome, Bridalveil Fall, and the Merced River. Whether we opt for a scenic hike, a quiet moment beneath towering cliffs, or simply soaking in the views from Glacier Point, Yosemite’s dramatic landscape will be a soul-stirring highlight. This day is yours to enjoy the park at your own leisure. This isn’t a guided experience. We’ll share a sample itinerary and a few ideas, but you’re completely free to explore the park however you’d like at your own pace or alongside your new Her Wilderness friends.
Day 3 – June 12
Drive to Sequoia & Explore Giant Forest
After an early breakfast, we’ll hit the road for a scenic drive south to Sequoia National Park, home to the largest trees on Earth. We’ll walk among the giants in the Giant Forest, stand at the base of the legendary General Sherman Tree, and stop at scenic overlooks like Moro Rock and Tunnel Log. After a day in the forest, we’ll head to the mountain town of Three Rivers to rest up for tomorrow’s river adventure. This isn’t a guided experience. We’ll share a sample itinerary and a few ideas, but you’re completely free to explore the park however you’d like at your own pace or alongside your new Her Wilderness friends.
Day 4 – June 13
Fly Fishing in Sequoia National Park
Today’s all about wild trout, fresh water, and the rhythmic peace of fly fishing. With an expert outfitter leading the way, we’ll explore some of Sequoia National Park’s most iconic fisheries, including creeks and rivers in the Lodgepole and Mineral King areas.
You’ll have a chance to catch:
Golden Trout – California’s stunning state fish, native to the high Sierra
Rainbow Trout – vibrant and abundant in the Kaweah drainage
Brown Trout & Brook Trout – often found in shaded pools and tributaries
Our guides will take us into pristine waters like the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River, Clover Creek, and the rarely accessed Wolverton and Silliman Creeks. For those up for a scenic drive, the Mineral King Valley offers high-country streams and lakes, nestled in a rugged, remote part of the park and it’s one of the only places you can drive to for golden trout wilderness.
All gear is provided, and no experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn, laugh, and wade into adventure.
Day 5 – June 14

Enjoy one final sunrise in the Sierra foothills before we head back to Fresno for departure. You’ll leave with a heart full of memories, new friendships, and maybe even a fish story or two.

FAQ’S AND POLICY
Yes, we know this part might seem a bit tedious, but it’s important! We kindly ask that everyone who registers for a trip visits the FAQs and Policy page on our website. If you sign up for a trip without reviewing this information, it’s your responsibility. There’s a wealth of valuable information there that could influence your decision. Please make sure to check out all the FAQs and Policies on our website before signing up for a trip with us. Thank you!
TRIP EXPECTATIONS + NO DRAMA POLICY
At Her Wilderness, our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and empowering outdoor experience for every woman who joins us. That said, outdoor adventures come with a level of unpredictability, especially when weather, wildlife, and group dynamics are involved. We ask all participants to bring a flexible mindset and a positive attitude. Weather conditions, guide recommendations, and other factors may require last-minute changes to activities, schedules, or game pursued (for example, switching from a duck hunt to a goose hunt if conditions call for it). These decisions are made with your safety and the quality of the experience in mind. If adaptability and going with the flow are not things you're comfortable with, we respectfully suggest reconsidering your participation in our trips.
What You Can Expect:
Outdoor conditions may change plans—including hunts, hikes, or water access.
You may share lodging with others.
Some locations may have limited facilities.
There is no guarantee of harvesting a specific species.
We do everything we can to deliver a great experience—no matter the challenge.
What We Expect:
A respectful, go-with-the-flow attitude.
Willingness to adapt to changes in schedule or activity.
Zero tolerance for drama, negativity, or behavior that impacts the group.
We maintain a strict no-drama policy. Any participant who brings negativity, disrupts the group dynamic, or disrespects staff or others will be asked to leave without a refund and will not be invited back to future events. We are here to build community, confidence, and lasting memories in the outdoors. Thank you for being part of that mission and for helping us keep our trips positive, welcoming, and fun for all!
TRIP REGISTRATION AND CONTACT INFORMATION
We’re thrilled to announce a new booking and payment system aimed at enhancing your experience! Starting October 1, 2024, all trip registrations will be processed through WeTravel. Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email via the WeTravel platform. Your trip coordinator will then reach out with detailed information about your adventure and schedule two virtual video meetings for all trip attendees. The coordinator will share their email and other contact information with you at their discretion, so please respect their boundaries and contact them only through the provided information. A quick reminder: personal social media profiles are not the best way to reach out to your coordinator. During the virtual meetings, hosted on Google Meet, you’ll discuss important details such as packing lists, travel plans, and more. To ensure smooth communication, please register with a valid email address that you check regularly. If you have any questions or need assistance regarding the trip, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at questions@herwilderness.co. We look forward to making your experience exceptional!
